Well, i just graduated high school (CLASS OF 2010!!) and I go to basic training on Aug. 2nd. I already got excepted to UTSA about a month ago. So, if I do get stationed in one of the military bases in San Antonio, will it be possible for me to do colorguard for the marching band while im active??

There is Ft. Sam Houston in SA. But, no you will not be able to do marching band. You're a full time worker and part time student. Life is different--you will not have the typical college life. |

It's not very likely if you're active duty. The reason is because your military duties will take priority. Nothing is stopping you from taking night and weekend classes at UTSA if you're stationed close enough to attend. However, if you're not expected to be available during the daytime and during deployments the college may opt to give your slot to someone else who will be available at all times. |

No, to be a member of a university band, you would have to be a full time student.
You cannot be a full time student and be on active duty at the same time.
