My husband just got his orders and we will be going to Jacksonville, Fl for his PDS. He will attend a month of c school once he gets there. My question is will the navy pay to move us down there while he is in c school since it will be our PDS., or will we have to wait until his schooling is done??

Because his PCS orders will report him to Jax ultimately as his permanent duty station, the family is authorized a household goods move, and advance travel and DLA (if needed). It just so happens that his "C" school is also in Jax, but it really has no bearing on the dependent's entitlements.
Even if his school was elsewhere, you would still be good. If you do choose to wait until his school is over, he has up to 1 year to file the claim for DLA (dislocation allowance), dependent per diem and mileage from the effective date of his orders.
Also keep in mind that if you stay put, and the BAH rate you have is higher than the Jacksonville area, you will lose BAH based on your location because he is in the vicinity of his permanent duty station.....just food for thought. Good luck, I hope you enjoy Jax!!! |

no. you will stay put until he reports to his duty station. if his C school is located in the same area as his PDS he MIGHT be able to set up the move while in C school. but don't count on them giving him the time to do that. |

If his Permanent Duty Station orders is dependent on successful completion of 'C" school. it would probably be in your best interest to wait. |

Depends on how long it is.. The Army will move people down to any school longer than 4 months I think? Dunno about Navy |
