Will the navy give braces?

will the navy give me braces for free during bootcamp if needed because i have asked recruiters and some said yes and some said no.

UPDATED: I checked and orthodontic appliances are a disqualifier for enlistment in all services, and you can assume you won't get or be allowed to have them after you enlist.

no. One no braces are permitted in Boot camp. 2, they must be deemed MEDICALLY Necessary( not cosmetic) AND you must be NON deployable for the ENTIRE time they are expected to be on.

so while longer A schools and shore duties you can try and get them, 90% of the time it will NOT be permitted.

Recruiters Lie.....It's likely that you can have access to the military's medical benefits after boot camp and I don't think it'll be free.


by the way why are you considering the Navy?

i'm pretty sure you have to have good teeth before going there. not sure.
