Will we go to war with Iran?

No,we are not going to war with Iran any time soon. America will use every form of diplomacy possible to avoid a military confrontation.

The only event I can see that would send us to war with Iran would be if Iran invaded or bombed another country such as Israel. Can't really see them doing that.

As for the draft...can't see that in the near future.

I have a question for you..what is the meaning of this "Now we have so many soldiers with mental problems"???? This is news to me.

Bush is trying hard to get us in a war with Iran. His imperialistic mindset is detrimental to this country, and the masses are realizing it. If there was ever a draft it would cause the biggest uproar seen in this country in the past several decades. This would make it very hard for congress to pass. Therefore, I don't think a draft will be passed - especially when the opposition against the war is enormous nowadays.

I don't think Bush will be able to get us in a war with Iran by the end of his term. It will be mostly up to the next president. If a democrat is elected, I would suppose that such a confrontation would be unlikely. If, however, a republican wins the nomination - it might be possible. Chances are, though, that Clinton will be our next president. Not that it's a good thing, but that's the way things are going right now.

The war with Iraq is making this country go bankrupt. We spend billions of dollars overseas for this war, and it has not gotten us very far. It has cost us approximately 800 billion dollars so far, and we can no longer afford to indebt ourselves to Saudi Arabi and China, the countries lending us this money. Lending money from these countries is also making the dollar value go down, thus hurting our economy.

As far as "not having enough soldiers" is concerned: Did you know we have 30,000 US troops in Germany? Did you know that we have 50,000 US troops in South Korea?

That's right. We have many more troops in other regions of the world, and it's unnecessary. This military expidentures are costly and gives the world the impression that we are imperialistic invadors that are trying to police the world.

And that's just my 2 cents on the issue

2. Vietnam War ALL OVER AGAIN!!!!!!! Even the damn policies are becoming the same, and the goal (and the draft, and the oncoming protests, and the oncoming loss of constitutional rights, and the rebellious culture)

Yes you will be making a massive mistake if you join. There are two large nations in the middle east. Iran is one of them. Iraq is 1/3 the size of Iran, and Iran has a very capable military. Invading that nation would be a massive mistake. As casualties would be much higher than in Iraq.

Im 20...and Ive been wasting brain cells for too long. I enrolled in school, still am enrolled.... but have a hard time on focusing. I mean beer, music, women... its all so much. anyways... I thought of joining a few months ago. I mean what exactly am I doing here... other than wasting cash and not making a difference. But then I asked myself what Id be giving up if I went. I mean would it be for the right reasons.

If I were to guess...I would say no, or not for a while or not unless they attack or instigate us.

The new president will have a VERY tough time doing anything new militarily, except getting OUT of Iraq.

The country is sick of war...Iran can be crippled by diplomacy and international isolation (just like Iraq was).

Russia, Iran, And China have an agreement like we have with the NATO Nations. If one is attacked we help. So yeah Russia and China might come to their aid.

There should be a draft. That would end the war when rich peoples kids have to go fight. Maybe young people who don't like history or politics will wake up and make a difference

Bush wants to leave the White House with a win. My bet is the we bomb Iran. We will have to "leave" Iraq, Instead of lose in Iraq to fight Iran. Or at least that his how corporate media will spin it!

I think you should really think about it. Could you imagine being in a war movie and thinking you would handle someone shooting you and unknown where you are and your alone waiting to die?!Or are you a person who will be able to fight still being shoot.knowing you are suffering for you country and you might never make it home to see your kind sister or even see her little baby, feeling that you we;re going to war to keep them safe. And very upset not knowing Whats going to happen, Bombs are going off, Hearing people getting shot. Its the motivation that's really inside of you!! that you will know how Strong you are to go to Iran and fight for this country and Is this something inside your heart that you really want to do? I saw the title of your question and I immediately wanted to say, if we go to war with Iran there will be a draft unfortunately. Its scary and a bad idea. I swear if our stupid country decides too I'm going to become the worst anarchist ever. If we do go to war with Iran our problem wont just be Iran. Keep it out of your head that China likes us. Cause it doesn't. The leaders of China when the U.S first started said, "We will hang the American's with the rope that they will give us." That's saying we are pretty much supplying them with money for our death. Even if we win the war with Iran we will be way too vulnerable towards China. If we do go to war with Iran the only safe way to do it is if we go in with at least 4 other countries to ensure success.
Watch who you vote for. Crazy s*** is about to happen. (possible recession, devaluing of the American dollar, stock and housing market crashing) Our country needs a great leader. Watch who you vote for. A World War 3 is very possible in the next 20 years.

No one should join the Army unless they are fully prepared to go to war. So, if you want to join, it's best to assume that you WILL go to war.

The situation in the Middle East is a powder keg. If it's not Iran, then trouble will spring up elsewhere. Much of Islam is being taught to hate all things Western and, most especially, all things American. At this point, I can't imagine a scenario that won't lead to an escalation in the conflict.

i don't thing America has the guts, but i wouldn't mind if they did. I'm still kind of mad over the hostage situation. shouldn't iran also give the canadian diplomat who saved some Americans a medal also?

Iran is definately a possibility. I don't think the USA will revert to a draft system again, its all volunteer. I do feel every able body (male and female) should at least do a short duty in any of the armed forces. It gives you direction, a sense of pride, and can help with discipline for your future. It also opens up a lot more opportunity like education, training, VA benefits, and jobs. Most mentally ill, would be ill anyway (regardless of active duty), most are born with it or have other underlying factors. As for China and Russia (Russia will stay out) and if China gets involved, there is no hope for us, especially if they get involved with IRAN.

Now let me ask you a realistic question, which would you rather do: fight on USA soil as a civilian or get ongoing job training and fight off American soil? Train up and kill the enemy on their ground not ours......

Today's armed forces treat soldiers better than they have ever been treated. Get paid better and more opportunity for advancement.
