In 50 years at our current rate of growth, we'll be at 10 billion souls. There will be zero fossil fuels, zero coal and other natural resources. Wars will be fought over water.
The burgeoning populations will mostly be in the 3rd world countries. The richer countries will be using violence to maintain their status quo.... a real bleak future. |

I hate to break it to you but humans have been killing each other for resources since the beginning of time and it will get worse as time passes and certain resources become more scarce. |

It has been happening since the beginning of time. Who taught you otherwise? |

I think it's already begun. Fighting in the Middle east is over oil. |

Isnt that what weve always done?
When demand outweighs supply natures population control comes into effect; wars and famine. So are we drifting towards WW3 based upon lack resources partially due to overpopulation? Maybe, unless we can utilise new resources effectively and/or stem the worldwide population explosion.
The idea that the polar bears are doing the same just shows us how intrinsic the war and peace cycle is within nature. |

I think we already have, haven't we? I mean the war in Iraq is all about fuel resources... There are also wars in Africa over water. |

We have ALREADY been killing each other for resources for thousands of years now, so there's no need to speak in the future tense! |

Since the beginning of time my man. Every war has been about gaining land/resources. |

Humans have been doing this to some degree for as long as they existed. It is happening now, and will intensify as resources diminish, if we don't learn to control our animal nature. |

36 answerers. Thank god I live in a country where you serve your sentences at the same time, life means 20 years and you normally only serve 2/3 of that.
See you in 14 years! |

I hope not. But, I believe that it is said that when resources are low...crime rate is up. So, I am hoping that we remember what our parents taught us as children and that is "to share".

I believe that's already happening, it might not be by the masses but is definately happening as we speak. Unfortunaly most people arent educated, and those same people are raising uneducated children. By education i mean many levels.. school, religion, politics, environment, etc. So sooner or later, the resources are going to run out, and not because of "the apocalips" or " God", but because of all us humans brought it upon ourselves, for not taking control of population and creating unnecessary bounderies among each other. |

Well, this is something that sounds like it came from a sci-fi movie, but If we really hit that level where we run out of resources, humans will refer to their primative instincs and most likely kill each other, so yes, It is possible. |

People are saying, "it has been happening since the beginning of time". This is true but also if we get to a certain point in which countries like ourselves begin to do this, i think alternative fuels will likely be seen. Countries in Africa and in the Middle East are fighting over resources, yes, but like people said, it's bound to happen and it is part of life.
If we ever get to this point to where the whole world is fighting over resources. I don't think it will be soon. |

If you think about it really hard we are now. Like WE might not be 'killing' bt we are fighting. Like companies are fighting to get more people involvedwith there product then the top brand. And like thise gansters on the streets and stuff the kill people for things that the want. Then you think about money there ARE people out there murdering others to get the money. Think how things are going to be with the gas and the prices. If you are in oklahoma you are lucky i belive that gas costs alot less out there. But in CA it is up to $5.30. its those little things that make you think. |

Humans have been killing other humans for "resources" since we became hominids.
Or, as the creationists believe, since Cain killed Abel. |
