With all the violence in the Mideast is it time to say we have enterred WWIII?

Yes but like the previous poster I agree we have been in World War 3 for some time and the truth is many are just not aware of it yet. The Mideast and our dependency on foreigh oil has been a powder keep waiting to blow, In my personal opinion World War 3 began when the Mullahs overtook Iran back in the late 1970s. Yes we have been in this war since the 1970s but we did not realize it til now.
The war on terror World War 3 is not going to be a typical war. It is going to be a completely different war than any other the world has faced. The reason is the War is going to be fought on many new battlefields including the internet and the ecomonic battlefeild.
To those who do not realize all the countries that are already involved in this battle let me lay it out for you this way.
Russia has been at war with chechen rebels for now 5 years. Iran has been supporting attacks for many years now.
In fact, at one time in this war we were supporting Iraq as an ally in this war when they were fighting Iran in the Iran/Iraq war. The only reason that was happening is Saddam was the less of the two evils. I personally think in that cause we could not let Iran sphere of influence grow so we had to support Iraq. How at the same time Iraq proved that they had the same type of plans for mideast oil domination when they invaded Kuwait. Hence the Battle of Iraq version 1.
Also their were battles like the bombing in the 1980s of the marine Baracks and the bombing of the towers in the early 1990s. You can also add the the fact that the humanity mission to Somilia is also a front because it was that present Al_queda leader Osama Bin Laden saw that America will run in the face of murderous acts to American soldiers plus now the warlords of Somilia who were in power during the Somilia the first time are now overthrown and Al_queda and Islamic Fundamentalists have taken over.
That is not even talking aout North Korea and Venezula are also involved in this war. To me there is no doubt we have been in this war for years and the oppositing side has been fighting against us for years but we have been too fat dumb and happy to realize what is going on.
Take for example the roits in France this year. Yeah those roits in France were all because of Islam fundamentalists who have been entering there country and slowly growing. Add to that the attacks in Spain before there election and the Attacks on 7-7 in Britian. People we are at war and it is WWIII it is time to wake up and realize it.

That combined with what's going on in North Korea certainly seem to indicate that it's on the horizon

We entered World War III 10 or 15 years ago. Just as the other World Wars, it has been building up. The question is whether or not this World War will go nuclear or not.

Maybe it comes in the future, but we're not yet in it. A world war would require many more nations to be involved. Right now it's pretty much just the U.S. and Israel fighting Muslim extremists.

No, we will call a III world war when two power first world nations declare the war to each other, but unafortunately that can happen soon, and many say the III world war is going to be a really cathastrohpic war.

No it's not a world war. You'll know it if it happens. But with the way wars are waged now don't expect the countries to declare "This is World War III".

As for America falling into foreign hands rest assured that we would bomb the planet into obliteration before we would surrender. Comforting thought isn't it.

In my opinion, it's a war, but not a world war, where the majority of the countries of the world take one side or the other and there's a big fight until one side surrenders or is defeated. I think we have the makings for a world war, that's for sure. Pray for an end to terrorism and war. Amen.

I do not think so...to be labeled as a World War, a group of few countries should be fighting another group of countries...like a football match if player = country.

Here, its only the USA and allies fighting some local group of terrorists...hence this is not a World War but WW III isn't far away the way things are shaping up.
