My personal view is that I think we should just go isolationist again...at least militarily isolationist. Just pull ourselves back and let the rest of the world do it's own thing. Tsunami in south east asia...not our problem. Wars in Europe, asia, africa, etc...also not our problem. UN? Pull funding, pull out, and turn the UN building into something useful, like a mall. We spend billions and billions and billions of dollars in foreign aid as well as supporting the UN near exclusively, when I would be more than happy to see that money go toward things here. The large majority of conflicts we've been in were to promote someone else's interest and we've been the biggest contributer of force in almost all of them. We share equal credit when things go right, are given all the blame when things go wrong, and, if we dare use our own military for what it was actually designed for...that being the defense and promotion of US interests...everyone throws a fit. Screw that. Frankly, I'm tired of being the rest of the world's personal goon. We need to get out of the business of peacekeeping...get out of the business of "nation building"...get out of the business of using our military for relief efforts. My ideal is free trade and peaceful open relations with everyone unless we get attacked...and when we are attacked a la 9/11, we burn and pillage our way across the offending country..take what we want...and go home leaving a smoking and charred ruin. No prolonged "rebuilding efforts"...just pack up and leave with all the stuff we want to take.

I think I answered this before. If you would see a person trying to break in your house would you do something about it. Suppose someone were in the street with a gun shouting that he wanted to kill you would you ignore that. Suppose you know that same person killed some of your friends would you hide and watch.

I hope all you people that absolutely hate America and Americans find someone else to be your protector, money tree, aid giver ...perhaps China!! Sounds good to me...We can use the money, aid etc.. that we use to support the world in our own country to help our own people..I suggest for all those countries that hate America and Americans, but yet depend on us....sink or swim!! If it came to a question of American National Security, then I would say Yes.

But then, they must for their own survival.

America would also realise, that Britain has had a history of absorbing attack.

Historically, we do strike back in extremely deadly form.

Let us hope it never comes to that sort of thing.

Let us also hope that Pres Bush doesn't fancy bombing elsewhere, I'm more worried about ''Friendly Fire''.

I would love to see you in a world where England France and all the european countries did not have the USA to defend and protect the ratical immoral forces in the world. You socialistic economies would buckle under the strain of actually having to feild an army or even purchase an aircraft carrier. It seems to me that the UK almost got it's arsse kicked by Argentina not so long ago with crappy french weapons, the ones that were destroyed in moments during gulf 1.

It was but 60 years ago that America funded the total cost of the reconstruction of western Europe and put our umbrella of protection across the same continent, for the purposes of keeping the red giants tanks from rolling across your tea gardens, so when you think of how arogant we are in containing the worlds raticall islamic fundamentalist, remember, if WE wern't fighting them in Iraq, You would be meeting them in YOUR subways and trainstations all across your defenceless countries. Try getting off welfare, develop something worthwile and feailding something besides a token gesture in the defence of your own liberty.

Then and only then should you critisize the USA.

Why would we want to bomb you? of course we wouldn't. The only thing i could see happening is less trust with technology placed in those countries. possibly trade might be affected.

@Mike Yeah well WE were fighting them in Iraq as well, and not only did WE get killed by Iraq soilders, we got killed by American soilders in FRIENDLY FIRE. America is the only country that was crazy enough to drop a nuclear bomb on another country. Now i have nothing against Americans, hell i live in England and England is their biggest allie.. But to me it just seems that alot of people in the US.. Acctually LOVE war and LOVE to kill fellow human being's.. I know not everybody is like that (not like i can talk for millions of people living in a country). But it still appears that America is very much in love with killing things
