... I'm in the delayed entry program for the Army Reserves (I don't leave until August)
I was planning on finishing college before going Active but I've found that college isn't really for me.
So now I want to go active now and change my MOS from Military Police to Cavalry Scout.
Two questions,
Would I be able to do this with relative ease?
Would I have to go through MEPS all over again (medical waivers, legal stuff, security clearance, etc.)?

You have to get out of the DEP program for the reserves first.
You have to see an active duty recruiter.
Since you are still in the beginning stages it should be fairly easy.
You will not retake the ASVAB, But will got o MEPS again to get a new MOS, etc.
I do not believe you would have to redo everything though.
Call an AD recruiter and ask them for the exact process. Should be relatively painless. |

1. There is no DEP program for the Reserves !!!!!
When you swear in to the reserves the first time at MEPS
You are in the reserves, it doesn't matter if you have went to basic or not. You can already go to drill, if you want to and be paid.
2. So to go active, you have to be discharged from the reserves first.
And thats entirely up to your Reserve unit commander.
DEP is for active duty only !!!!! |

It depends if there are openings in that new MOS or not. Other than that it should be fairly easy! |

you MUST go to MEPS.... Something that is major like that will require you to go to MEPS for it....good luck |
