Invincible is a mighty big word. Everything can be overcome given enough time and resources. Iwo Jima had an "invincible defense" but you see how that worked out. The great wall of china was built to be defensive, along with the Maginot Line in france. If you are thinking something more along the lines of a personal shield (like in star wars) that too can be overcome. Short answer...No long answer with defense you may be able to build something that lasts long enough to cause the enemy to move onto a weaker target.

BUT yes... but imagine this: the military cover the USA with a titanium shield (yes it protects you of everything)
nothing goes in... nor out.... oxygen included..... oxygen recycling....
you see its possible "right now"
