Would it be wrong to request a pro war Republican to send their children to war?

Observed another vehicle with a "I support the war" decal on a vehicle. Next to it was a decal that stated "I am a Republican with respect". Inside were two grown off spring. I walked up and said "Thanks for the support". They ( Adults) beamed. Then I stated "Since you support the war how about sending your kids in the name of your great leader "President Bush" and make him proud. Their smile turned sour like they were eating lemons. The father stated "My children are going to college. We have other things to do". With that the father and mother told me to mind my business and walked away.

If they support the war why is it they don't want their children to go to war?

Was this an "I support the troops" sticker? Then it might make more sense. Many people want the troops to be safe without believing in the reasons they were sent overseas.

I don't think it is wrong in any way to expect supporters of the war to fight for their country or to ask them about sending their own children. They should be proud to do so.

I did see a car a couple of years ago that had a sticker that read "I Support Our Troops More than You Do." I'm not sure what that was supposed to mean.

Erm, Pres Bush is out of office, and one can only enlist by volunteering. Also sounds like you are making this up since that quote is almost the same thing that former VP Cheney said. so I call BS

You shouldn't have to. If they believed the war was right they should, without hesitation, urge their children to enlist.

well, they have conflicting interests.... they want to be protected and fight a war, but they dont want their kids doing the job, just OTHER kids
