North Korea seems to have plenty of reason to reconcile with the south, including 33% of what they use and eat. The one nation in the region who needs war and has been talking toughest there is the US, not really an Asian country, but the most armed in Asia. Did they do it in the Tonkin Bay incident? They seem gleeful to welcome hostlility to the region.

It is North Korea's long and successful policy -- to grossly misbehave and then agree to go back to tame(r) ways in exchange for gifts and handouts. Watch and see, how it will work again this time -- loath to go to war, South Korea and the US will deliver some stuff (or ease existing sanctions) in return for North' nebulous promise to, for example, "do more" to "ensure maritime safety" or something like that.
