Would this be considered enlistment or re-enlistment?

My boyfriends brother in law is eas for the marines to go to college. He wants to get back in in four years. Also, would the cut off enlistment age apply to him?

If he's going back into the same branch, USMC, which is where he earlier EAS'ed from, then it is a re enlistment. He does not have to repeat bootcamp so age requirements do not apply. However, depending on what his rank and MOS were he may have to lat move if that MOS is currently closed. Or he could wait until the next fiscal year when everything is open again.

I'm pretty sure that first time enlistment age requirements don't apply to prior service members.

Other wise how would an enlistee serve for 20 years like some do?
