Would you be able to choose which Special Forces group you belong to?

I'm planning on enlisting in the Army with a 18x contract to pursue my dream on becoming a Special Forces engineer soldier. I understand many people say you should not look that far, you should first look towards the beginning Selection and training. Bt my opinion is that if you are going to join something, make sure it has what you want to do. Now I assume that the group I want to belong to is the 10th Special Forces Group. I want to be trained and have the ability to fight in the harsh areas of mountain and arctic areas. I would also like to become a trained parachutist and diver. So would you be able to pick which group you belong to? Also, how would the training such as te diving work out? Please only answers that help.

You should go Marine Recon. Then you will get the diving operations training. Para ops training is mandatory. You will be trained to recon in force or with a small unit. This is a prestigious MOS in the most honorable of professions. You will sail the seas of the world in rapid deployment units, ready to helicopter in, or para jump at a moments notice. Be known as "Swift, Silent and Deadly". Whatever you do, do it well. Semper Fi
