If you don't feel like you would go to war for your country then you should move a country where you do feel that. I don't always agree with my country and the leaders we elect but regardless I love my country and I am the proud daughter or a retired Marine and and Army wife and my brother in law is in the AirForce. |

If I physically could I would in a heartbeat.
Although it would be scary as hell. It's nothing to take lightly.
My Grandpa did (and was shot in the head) and I honor them all and am proud of them all. |

I am from the United States and I have fought for my country. People choose to sacrifice everyday luxuries to wear a uniform and fight wars, but that doesnt mean everyone is cut-out for the job. A lot of people might say no to your question, but there are a lot of people that would say yes. What it comes down to is, do you have the integrity to follow through with what answer you personally choose. Honoring the people that followed through with their service should be respected like you said. |

It is easy for anybody to say that they would not fight for their country. You are fortunate not to live in a country ravaged by war because there are those who would fight for theirs and your freedom. There are many reasons one would not pick up a weapon and fight. However, a just cause and the belief in that cause, is all it takes to make a peaceful man take up arms to protect what he believes in. Wars have been fought for many reasons, some righteous, some not so.
Unfortunately we as free people do not have the luxury to sit and enjoy our freedom without having a force of believers to protect our ideology.
Peace and freedom is often paid for with the blood and the lives of so many young men (and women).
You may not want to fight for your country or your countries rights and freedoms, but just be thankfull that there are those who are willing to lay down their lives for the liberty you and your family enjoy. Honour them.
They shall grow not old,
As we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun,
And in the morning
We will remember them.

Thanks for remembering them. My 11 year old is writing letters to some of the soldiers to keep their spirits up. Personally, I wouldn't/couldn't fight. I would actually be a negative to my country if I did. |

Now that is a wonderful thing to hear on here! Although, it may be a bit late for you to be up! Stay in school! Support our troops! As for fighting, being physically challenged prevents me, but if I could, I would, in honor of my Great Grandfather (Army) and Grandfather (Navy). |

I have two tours already in the middle east from active duty and now i am in the national guard and soon as i am MOS qualified i would go back again.
while all you liberals are blaming President Bush for the war dont forget Clinton cut our military from a strong million plus in the army to under 400,000 during his term which is what is hurting us now. He has done the best job with what the Clinton administration did and left over. |

I am getting a bit older but still know which end of my rifle to point at the bad guys
I know of the Poppy - from Flanders Field etc
Every year on 25th April My family & I attend the ANZAC Dawn Service to pay our respects to those who served before me and especially to those who didnt come home.
Also to teach and remind my children of the Anzac spirit and the sacrifices they made so we could live. WE owe them our very existence

YOU WOULDN'T FIGHT FOR YOUR COUNTRY? You are either VERY young (12), very stupid or a coward.
Just my opinion

I am in the US Air Force currently and all I got to say is that we couldn't do what we do without real support, no matter where it comes from. Thanks! |

There are so many things we could do for this war,,, One is to get out and vote and elect someone who knows what the heck is going on! Besides a doofus from Texas!
Thanks for the reminder!! My son will be marching in the parade tomorrow. Army National Guard! |

If my country calls,i would fight ..Hopefully it would be a real war like WWI or WWII and not just some stupid pollitical war like the rest of them since Korea..Yes ,God Bless the TROOPS and the USA!!!! |

At 12 you have decided that you would not fight for your country. But you plan to honor those who have fought.
In our lifetime there has not been a winner take all war like WW II, so you can take the stand in Canada that you will not fight and think the decision is yours to make.
I pray that in your lifetime you never have to fight to retain the right to make that decision. |

Never heard of this thing and nor am I going to do it because the Sabbath is for honoring God. Also I' am already serving and am in Force Recon.
Also I love these people below me(mainly monkeypoo) basically calling us STUPID. I was told to do it, but I also volunteered for it and am DAMN PROUD to do it because we can't expect the Liberals to do it. |

You know, I am 12 too.And I say the same thing to my friends and family. Actually when I will be 20 or 30 year old I will go and fight to save my country and if there is a fight now I am gonna go and fight just for the people in my country and my friends and family.I strongly agree with you my friend. |
