I was at Pearl Harbor during the attack . Later I fought all the way across Europe in the front-line infantry . I don't need links to tell me what war is .
Anyone who would refuse to fight for his country , doesn't belong in that country . The dirtiest word in the English language is coward . |

Too beat up. Knees shot, ankles shot, 2 lower back surgeries. But if I were 15 years younger, yes.
And if the Corps thought there was something I could still do to help, I would. |

My husband is there on his 3rd tour. If they would let me go, I'd go, too. Its not about shooting people. Its about giving these people a life that they could only dream about under Saddam Hussein. There are people (a lot of whom are not even Iraqi) who want to keep the dream away from them. I know it is bloody ugly. My husband has seen things I know he will never tell me, but he has told me a couple of stories. One of Iraqis coming up and shaking their hands and telling them "thank you" for coming and setting them free from Hussein (a man who gassed to death thousands of people in one village in one day just for being the wrong ethnicity). The other was of a little girl the he met in the open market of the Green Zone. The next day there was a bombing in the market that killed 50+ Iraqis. When the market was finally reopened a few weeks later, he went to the stand of the little girl's grandmother. He did not see the little girl, so he asked her grandmother about her. He was told the little girl had been one of the ones killed in the bombing. It wretched his heart out and made him even more determined to stay and help fight to protect these people.

In 2003 thatis exactly what is did. I went to the recuiter and told him I wanted to join. At that time I bartended during the week and taught skydiving on the weekends. Had a really fun life but the war had started and I needed to give back to my country. I scored really high on the tests that they give you and I had to argue with the recuiter at meps about becoming an airborne infantry man. I wanted to insure that I got to go.
Remember that when you see things in the media your only seeing what they want you to see. We aren't just killing people over there. Good things are going on as well. A friend of mine took all the money he had earned in a year while he was there and helped start a library for the kids in the region he was in. You dont hear about things like that in the news but it goes on.

Well, according to your little website there, i am a mindless killing machine. So stand before me and i will do my job, without remorse and end you. Keep disrespecting my military brothers and sisters, go ahead, keep doing it. It just proves how worthless you and your friends are. I can't understand you....i am just a war criminal.....but i'll just say your welcome. have a nice day. |

I was in the Army, stationed in Alaska when Gulf War I started. I and quite a few of my company formed a line at the 1SG's door that went down the length of the barracks and halfway back to volunteer to go. There were so many people volunteering that at the next morning's formation, the 1SG said "The next person that says the word 'Saudi' [where the buildup was occuring, that's what we referenced it by] to me gets an article 15."
We weren't volunteering to go fight or die or kill someone else. Most of us had been "practicing" our job our whole careers, and finally there was an opportunity to actually go DO our jobs in the environment that it was meant to be done in.
I can understand the mindset of the soldiers. To actually put your skills to work is a big incentive. |

Nice pictures, just goes to show how out of touch liberals are with the military. It's apparent by your links where you're getting all your information.
Retired Army, been to Iraq three times. War is not a pretty thing, but what your Lefty propaganda site does not tell you is the full story.
Regardless, people such as you truly live in a fairy tail world and are not capable of assimilating news from multiple source or soldiers that have actually served there... |

If I were still in the Army, yes I would go. Those that are there have my utmost respect. They are doing their jobs in spite of the politicians and many of their countrymen who don't have a clue what it takes to be in the military.
Those in the military know the difference between a video game and the real thing. Maybe those that don't should have a taste of reality so they can learn the difference too. |

I don't believe I'd like it, but we'd rather be doing it over there, tha fighting in our own streets. Maybe the liberals would rather we face IED's in the U.S.? Somebody had to stand up to Islamic extremist! The right men for the job are George Bush and John McCain. I'm glad to have done what I did.

I would go, because if people like me don't go, who is going to stop them from killing everyone else? |

Ok, that link you gave comes off to me as very biased and anti-american in nature. the writer of the article explicity states that he doesn't give a thought towards the American soldiers in Iraq, which leads me to doubt the neutrality of the article. On a closer look, it only details supposed American atrocities in Iraq, versus nothing about the guerilla atrocities in iraq. The article is just anti-american bs. The pictures probably do suit your question though. |
