Would he shoot you ?? Of course he would. If you ever want to see your family again you will grow some fruit between your legs and pull the trigger. |

If a 6 year old pointed an AK 47 at me I would try to take him out. It's sad, the kid is too young to realize what he is doing, and will probably lose his whole life, but I blame the person who put the gun in their hand to start with. |

Sorry but as an ex squaddie I have to say yes I would its the bullet that kills who ever pulls the trigger be they 6 or 60 the target can still be dead.
In the early days of the Irish fun and games a group of 'ladies and kids' surrounded a 18 year old Argyle who was separated from his platoon, they frightened him took his rifle of him and Killed him with it, he couldn't understand it these ladies looked like his mom and sisters, He couldn't shoot them But they could Him sorry but I would rather live I wouldnt hesitate and yes I have been in similar situations and yes I am still alive. |

As an ex member of the British armed forces I would have to say no, at least not to start with. In war, if someone shoots at you you shoot back, no questions asked, just do it. If you are close enought to recognise that the person is six years old then you are close enough to deal with it another way, maybe... I've been to war and I have been shot at, but never have I been able to determine the age of the enemy who was trying to kill me. If these rag head b'stards want to recruit six year olds to fight against a trained army then the world is indeed a sad place. I'm very angry right now, send me a rag head terrorist now please, man to man.. and I will show you a grovelling coward. |

Most of the world uses children, in many places they are forced to fight for fear that their families will be murdered. I would kill anyone coming at me with a weapon. I'd rather be remorseful than dead.
Of course John Kerry would shoot them in the back as they ran away- his words not mine |

This is going to sound harsh, but in a lot of muslim societies - the symbol of a child standing up to fight is idealized by their society. Against Israel, killed children are hailed as martyrs all the time - children that were given an idealized notion that it was a good idea to take on a tank with a rock.
How many posters and pictures have you seen that shows a small Palestinian boy using a sling-shot against an Israeli tank? Probably a lot. It's idealized like David vs. Goliath.
As a solution... their societies will need to stand up and stop letting their leaders idealize martyrdome. I can't see that there is much an outsider can do to change their societal views. |

Yes. Hope they are killed that instant so they do not have to grow up with the horrors or missing limbs and friends. |

Children threw grenades in Vietnam. Children are vulnerable to the adults who guide them. The evil recruitment of children has a long and despicable history. The children are brainwashed into believing what they are doing is right. It is horrible to misuse children in this way, but that doesn't make them less lethal. Troops would have to defend themselves from fire from a child. Their minds would be tormented by it, because the troops have been taught morality, but they also are taught to do their duty. I hope they don't hesitate to defend themselves. I hope the ones training the children rot in hell. |

If a 6-year old boy could lift 4kg rifle, he will be knocked down by a first recoil, and barely could hit anybody.
More danger comes from a bomb strapped to a kid by his evil uncles. |

yes, and I wouldn't loose sleep at night either.
war is not a cookie cutter experience. children die. adults die. animals die.
If you are not willing to commit to acts of violence... meaning leathal force... then you are a liability to them men standing next to you.
I would not loose sleep over killing anyone because I know that my life and the life of my comrads are worth more to me than anyone that I may meet at the other end of a gun. |

If they threaten an adult with a weapon, acting like they will shoot, they are just a casualty of war. Shoot them if you want to live. |

every human being as the obligation to protect their own life. I'm sorry but when this comes down to the choice of kill or be killed there is nothing that a soldier can do excpet shoot the child. If that child has been trained to use the weapon they are a soldier regardless of age. you could always argue the option of shooting to disarm but even if you capture the child they will be scarred, if not maimed and grow up in prison, not something the do-gooders would agree with either. If we are so ready to belive that boys who get hold of guns in the UK at an early age (Ok, not quite as early but pretty close) are monsters who kill wilfully, knowing thier own mind then why are we so ready to believe that these boys are any different? I know that they have no choice but a person with a gun is a threat and our troops have the right to defend their own lives from any man, child or beast who threatens it. |

This just demonstrates the evil and lack of humanity of the people we are dealing with.
If a loaded weapon was being pointed at me or one of my mates I would take the shot, however I guess it never leaves you.
The lesson from Africa is that child soldiers, who are usually abused, sadistically bullied, and have seen unimaginable horror become almost zombie like and fearless and as such are capable of things which adults are not. |

If it was me or them I would shoot them......This is going to cause problems as I know how my son was affected in Ireland with the children there...This really shows what level these people will stoop to god help those children....... |

Wi a second thought. It is obvious that the idiots who say they would try to wound him have never served in the armed forces. You only point a gun at someone you are going to kill - thats was drummed into me in my 5 years service. |

If my life or the lives of my comrades depended on it then... it would have to be yes.
Believe me a 6 yr old is just as capable of killing you as you are of killing him.
I would spend the next twenty or so years in therapy because I would have to live with that choice |
