Apparently so. The former colonail masters of Zimbabwe seem very lethargic in their response. Shame on my country.
The World Police (now known as USA) have almost nothing to say on the matter. Zimbabwe will continue to be destroyed by despotic leaders and mob rule, the UN will impose more useless sanctions and people will continue to die.

The problem with aid to despotic states such as Zimbabwe is that it's almost impossible to get permission to distribute aid unless you "cooperate" with the government, which in practice often means that the government diverts all the aid to its own supporters and military infrastructure, and the poor and hungry end up no better off - in fact they might even be worse off because now the instruments of repression are better fed and more healthy.
The government of Zimbabwe is hostile to the government of the UK, mainly because of British criticism of its civil rights record, and generally attach unacceptable conditions to offers of aid from the UK. The BBC is even banned from reporting from Zimbabwe.
Sadly it doesn't look as if things will change for the people of Zimbabwe until the current regime collapses. |

Take it to the UN. That is supposed to be their job, making peace and promoting stability. Ask them WHY nothing is bing done about Zimbabwe. While you are at it. Ask them why THEY don't do something about other places as well. |

Do your research. The UK, US or any other western power cannot hope to influence Zimbabwe, militarily or politcally, without the support of the surrounding African nations. |

Zimbabwe was fine when it was Rhodesia. The corrupt government there has destroyed the country and the people there have let it happen. As the libs are so fond of saying, it's their problem and their country. We must leave them alone to work it out on their own. |

Are you honestly saying that the US only helps countries that can help the US? Please research before you make such a sweeping statement. The US is the most generous nation in the world with money, food, supplies, etc. And not just to oil rich nations, as you claim. |

my husband was deployed for a year to africa...and they provided humanitarian aid for alot of african countries...they helped build schools, dug wells, provided food to villages that the african warlords seem to have forgotten about...my husband can tell you stories about seeing children in orphanages, women whose husbands and sons were killed just because they were males and yet these people still go on each day and do it without alot of help...the us is trying to help...don't just assume because there is nothing they can provide us with that we still won't go help... |

The problem to the solution is skin color.
No way will South Africa or Libya ever allow any white troops to enter Zim.
The UK only got away with it in Sierra Leone as its ragbag government didnt have any dirt on SA or Libya.
Mugabe knows where all the skeletons are hidden in Africa & he is not afraid to let secrets out of the bag if it suits him. Do none of you good people know about SA Deputy President Zuma? A major crook (corruption/foreign currency dealings & possibly even rape) who just happened to get away with it...guess who one of his friends is? |

And to think that thirty years ago, Robert Mugabe was hailed by some as a revolutionary leader.
-They did not complain when he fought against other resistance groups and later imprisioned their leaders, like Joseph Nkoma.
-They did not complain when he seized property from white landowners.
-They did not complain when he imprisioned and tortured former Rhodesian military officers.
-Now they complain that Mugabe has become a despot. What did they expect? |

Greetings. now you get to the reality of now. no profit, no help. no natural resources to rape, then no military help offered. other then from Communist China who are becoming heavily involved in Africa. We send guns and death. China sends trade agreements and aide. We rape the country, China tries to get the country to enter its sphere of influence and buys the resources from the country. Big difference. We instead install a puppet leader to control the people and simply take the resources. |
