ok i just need some help here with pay and stuff.....so i live in cali and going to fort knox in june and need to no how much will i be getting pay,iam a PFC wit a dependent and a iam going to get bah so how much exactly iam i going to be getting in total ?? just so i know that my wife and my little girl will have inof money while iam gone......my zip code is 95355 cause i went on the webpage for bah but dont really get it so any body can help

http://www.defensetravel.dod.mil/perdiem/bah.html and type in your zip code it will state that it is $1119 per month. It will be divided between the pay on the 15th and the 1st.
PFC means E3 so your Basic Pay will be $1705.80 before deductions
You will get Family Separation of $250 a month when gone longer than 30 days.
The military doesn't pay your family you need to make sure it goes into an account that she has access to so write it down or take a voided check. You also need to make sure you have their paperwork which is your marriage certificate, both birth certificates and SSN cards with you. The first pay can take up to 6 weeks before it is issued but with the Army they are quicker so if you are leaving before the 15th of June it might be there on July 1st but then again it might not be there until July 15th. If you leave towards the end of June then figure more towards August 1st. The first pay will not always include BAH but it will be backdated to the date you started. Also there will be a deduction of up to $300 for you buying necessities when you got there so realize that as well. |

from what i can find while your in basic training your BAH will be $1119.00 monthly and your monthly pay will be $1338.60, hope this helps, and good luck in basic. |
