Why would you need to straighten your hair or blow dry it? It will be in a bun or pony tail at the very least (for PT only, the rest of the time it will be in a bun). 1st of all, there is no time for that kind of thing in boot camp. You do not get to take your time while taking a shower. They are communal, and you will have maybe 10 minutes start to finish. Forget about your hygiene routine. You won't be bringing any personal care items with you, period. You will be able to purchase the basics at the small PX before you get to your unit. Looking good has nothing to do with being in the military. You will be in boot camp, not a beauty pageant. Trust me, you will be happy to just run a bar of soap through your hair at some points. You will learn that you do not "need" any of that stuff. If you are really that much of a girly-girl, you may want to rethink your decision to join. You are not there to impress people, or try to pick up guys (that's a REALLY bad idea, by the way). You are there to train. |

No hair dryers or straightners aloud. If you take them anyway they will be kept for you until you graduate |

yes you are but your hair wont EVER be in a state where they need straightening as for 14 weeks you will be told how to have your hair sh*t bust. |

If you're so concerned about your hair then you don't belong in the Army. You hair belongs to them, you will do with it as they say.
