don't really care if it was army or marines but i have always wanted to join the military. i had my ACL replaced when i was 16 , part of my manics removed when i was 17 and had a history of MCL sprangs (all in my right knee). since the last operation i have had no problems, and was able to complete a season of football and track after wards. im 25 now and probably about 315 LBS so i know im way over weight but at 230 i was 15% body fat
any way i was wandering if the knee surgeries and screws that were left in my knee to hold the new ligament in place while it grew its own bonds would be a problem

if i got into the army i would have a career goal of special weapons sgt

right now pal it's very unlikely.
I'm in the National Guard right now, and I can't even go active if I wanted to. And I'm fully trained in my MOS!
The military is almost full thanks to the recent economy... You can go talk to a recruiter and get most of those problems waived...
But that all depends on your chosen MOS. (Military Occupational Specialty)
If you wanted like infantry, or spec ops or rangers....stick to MW2.
It's extremely unlikely they will give you a waiver into that, with all those issues...
But you could possibly get in under IT or some other non combat MOS.
EDIT:: Special Forces Weapons Sgt? If that is what you meant, then most likely not. I mean, don't not try...if it's what you want to do, give it a shot. But I'm saying physically, you have your own limitations, regardless what the army limits you at. |
