whenever i speak to almost any military person that i am not specifically friends with, they treat me like scum. i want to be in the army and shoot for special forces if i can, but you don't need to be so derisive about it, i understand the meaning of hard work, dedication, and sometimes doing things that i may not want to do. so if you have something to say about what i just said then, please, do share.

p.s. all the marines i've met have not been as i just described, so i've got nothing against you.

Honestly you are just had bad luck.
And the Soldiers you have spoken to need to be UCMJed out of some pay for a wile.
Something i always like to point out to Soldiers is this.
The chain of command starts with the president, who gets his power from the Constitution.
And the Constitution gets its power FROM THE PEOPLE.
Those Civilians are your bosses if you are in the Military, that's why YOU WILL call them Sir or Ma'am, just like a officer. Your Serve them. |

I don't that way but I understand the reason for the question some and people like that look down on a lot of people including the garbage man, a plumber maybe or even waitress or busboy. People like that are shallow and have forgot what it was like for them before they joined the military or maybe don't have children who work as a busboy or part time waitress trying to make their way through school or make ends meet. Not all military are this way and I might add that I know civilians that are just as bad in regards to this as well. Just wait till their toilet gets backed up for a day or two or their trash does not get picked up for a few weeks. Then they are happy to see such people usually at least for a little while. |

I don't think you are necessarily pampered...some civilians just don't know what the military goes through...especially when we are deployed...I don't have a problem with civilians, except for the ones that forget to give thanks to the armed forces, but instead talk bad about them. I am however honored to serve people like yourself. I will be a civilian in about 4 months when I ETS...and I can't wait =] |
