A marine recruter called me up and asked questions and i lied about some because i was scared and nervous i might not be accepted...he asked if i ever had been involved in a felony n i said yes shop lifting at walmart when in fact it was something esle and i was 12 and it was a grand thef n i got arrested for it....also im a junior going senior next year but i told him i was graduating when im far from it i got alot to make up....

Up-front honesty is always best. You'll need to be honest with your recruiter so that they can help you apply for any required waivers. The details specific to your arrest will come out during the background check, and your academic record will also be checked. The minimum education to enlist in the Marines is a high school diploma, so there's no benefit to you lying about your graduation timeline. |

So, you lied about a crime you committed to get into the military, when you aren't old enough to get into the military in the first place.
Forget it. Tell him you lied, he'll leave you alone and spend his time with a person who isn't a timewaster |

First they do a background check.
Second some states automatically seal records 3 years after you have been in no trouble.
So bottom line I would tell the recruiter the truth and hope it is a sealed record. |

It will all come out. There is no such thing as a sealed record, all records are available for recruiters to check. If you really want to join, call up another recruiter and give them the truth. Or call the one back that you lied to and admit the truth. You have up until the first night at boot camp to clear the air before you start training without being punished. |
