It's just a modified off-hand. Last I checked, using the magazine for support is no longer allowed in military rifle range qual. |

Well, I don't know of a specific name for it, but notice how he is leaned slightly foward (and obviously ready to fire with the weapon up). That's called the "alert".
There is the "ready", which is the one you see a lot of in vietnam movies where they have the weapon pointed at the ground.
There is also the "carry" or "tactical", which is just what it sounds like, a moving port arms. |
