The long term causes of World War II go back to the end of WWI one when Germany was left defeated and broken. They economy was destroyed, they were forced to pay compensation to the countries of the Versailles treaty, and their pride was ruined. Hitler promised to the German people to bring Germany back to the world stage in bring it back to power, the people of course supported this and Hitler rose to power.
The short term cause of WWII is when Germany invaded Poland on September 1, 1939. Two days later England and France declared war on Germany and the war had begun. |
