im 21 and 100% set to join the Marine Corps . ive talked with 2 recruiters and i have been having some trouble joining . i have a small hand tat that ive been getting removed . its def been holding me back tho . by october it will be completely gone . also i had a weed possession charge when i was 16 . it was a misdemeanor and i payed my fines , did probation and had my file sealed . the army wouldnt take me because of this . ( quite glad they didnt ) the Marine Corps is where i wana be . my recruiter says i wont have trouble getting a waiver . also he asked what mos i wanted out of curiosity . i told him infantry and was suprised to hear it was full . BUT that is where im supposed to be . i can feel it with all of my being . ill be going to PT with the recruiters every sat until my tat is gone and i can enlist .

sorry this is so long . i needed to vent . all of the waiting is killin me . i am very eager . anyway the new fiscal year starts in october . this will better my chances of getting the MOS i want yes? any input would be great guys !(or girls)

one thing that ive noticed with the Marines over the Army is that Sense they are a Much smaller branch the Recruiters will actualy take the time to know you and train with you even before you have DEPed in so if They are letting you come to pool Functions and havent told you you are completely DQed and they know your story well then heelz yea you have a shot in OCT.....When i walked into the Army office 60lbs over weight they treated me like the black plague....but the Marines Called me out and said if i really wanted this i would loose the weight and helped push me along the way...i actualy got to swear in on the 3rd of last month and got a phone call this morning that there is a shiping slot avail on the 14th WOOOT!

The fiscal year change may not help if recruiting is still going exceptionally well. If the Marines won't work with you on the drug charge, try the Army. Good luck.
