if she is big enough and the seat belt fits around her okay, then why not? |

I think the right age for kids to start sitting in the front is ten or eleven. |

13 years of age and do you really care about other people and what they do.. |

Of course, as long as she is heavy enough then yes, it doesn't really matter about age, just your weight and height. |

About 10 i think, if you think she is big enough its okay(: |

i think 13 years of age. and you shouldn't care about what her ''friends are allowed to do'' because what if there doing drugs are you going to let your daughter do it. what should really matter is your daughters safety |

I think the right age is 9 or 10 depending on how big they are |

well these laws are in place for a safety reason. an air bag deploys at over 200 mph, that is enough to crush the face or ribcage of a smaller person i,e children. i don't think there is any reason to endanger a child, defiantly not peer pressure. you wouldn't let your child play with guns because it is too dangerous, well to me this is no different. most kids don't like booster seats either but we make them ride in them for safety, and not riding in the front until 12 is for the same reasons. most cars safety features are designed for the average size person not children so we have to manage around that, and the best way is to keep the child away from the dangers. if you drive an older vehicle without passenger airbag then it would be safer in that aspect. but the rear is most always safer for a child. and who cares what other parents do to endanger their children, never ever let that influence your judgment! there are very few laws in effect just to bother the public, there is usually a really good reason for most laws. traffic laws are most defiantly in effect for public safety. hope this helps. also you may try to find some literature that explains why your daughter needs to sit in the rear seat and go over that info with her. that is what i did with my kids, they tend to follow rules better if they have an understanding of why that rule is a rule in the first place. |

My daughter is 9 yrs and she says the same thing all the time. And she doesn't understand when 'others' get to - I tell her all the time-"I'm not their mom. I can't tell you why their mom is allowing it." But my rule is in my car or when she is riding with other people - She WILL ride in the back seat.
I can't turn my airbag off. So until her weight & height are where she needs to be - no front seat.
I see a lot of people saying 'as long as you drive safely' - The ONLY wrecks I have had - were someone else's fault not mine. It doesn't matter how safely you drive - someone will run a stop sign or something. So to be safe...have your child in the safest place. Buckled. (as well as yourself.)
Stay Strong......Keep her in the back. |

my mom let me sit in the front when i was 4 but i had 2 be in my booster seat she never got introuble and if your daughter wants to sit in the front with you to talk to you i think you should let her |

well it depends on her weight and height if she is 5 feet or 90 pounds (i think) or 13 u can |

I would say around 9 or 10. As long as she looks safe, and you drive quite safely, I don't see why not. I'm 13 now, and I've been sitting in the front for as long as I can remember. I was safe, and my dad doesn't drive like a maniac, so I was alright. If the seatbelt goes around her fine, I would let her. |

I sat in the front form about 11 or 12, I'm quite small but there were no problems at all.
But in car journeys if my sister felt sick she would sit in the front from about the age of 9 so I think 10 would be okay if she isn't too small. |

Depends on how big you are. But I think mostly around 10 years old or older. |

No, you shouldn't let her. Kids want a lot of things, that doesn't mean they'll get everything they want. |

i was aloud to sit in the front at 9 because im tall but i think 9 or 10 shall sit in the front. its about height if she is tall enough for you let her sit in the front |
|

hi!

10 if she is big enough. the m in p=m*v stands for mass not maturity. (thats the equation for momentum i think). |

The law is there because air bags can kill or injure small kids. |

Tell her she can sit in the front seat as long as she's willing to wears a football or motorcycle helmet.
Let's see if she's willing to sit shotgun looking like a special ed child. |

You gotta be 13. dont matter how big you are before that. my oldest is 11 and we've only let him sit in front once when there was no back seat and even then the wife gave me hell.
if your car dont got an airbag or you can disable it then maybe 10 is ok if the front belt fits her right but that dont fly in my house. |
|

13. Trite I know, but if all her friends were allowed to jump off the cliff, would you let her jump too? |

It is not about age, but about weight and safety. I don't care if my kid was 17, if she was petite and weighed less than 100 pounds, (say 96 pounds or so) and the weight requirements were 100 pounds or more to sit up front, she would STILL sit in the back seat, or middle seat of the van, in our case.
I'd rather have an annoyed daughter than a dead one! Those laws are in place for SAFETY, not to tick off kids!
SAFETY TRUMPS VANITY--ALWAYS!!! |

safety first. It's size, not age that matters. I'm glad I never had to worry about those guidelines, because I would've been sitting in the back seat way longer than my friends had to. I wouldn't put her up front until she's tall enough and heavy enough to not be injured greatly from an airbag. |
