Pull wiring for brake & tail lights, if person is driving you somewhere. Could catch attention of cops. Try to open latch. Kick in back seat. Scream |

The trunk you're in may not have a release unless it's a newer model or it's your car and you've installed a release. Nonetheless, it's worth looking for the release, just in case. It will usually be a glow-in-the-dark handle located near the trunk latch, but it may also be a cord, button, or toggle switch, or a handle that does not glow in the dark.
Search for a screwdriver, crowbar, or tire iron inside the trunk. There may be a toolkit or tire-changing tool set under the trunk floor. If you find a tool, use it to pry open the trunk latch. If you are unable to pry the latch, you may be able to pry up the side of the trunk. This will provide some ventilation and enable you to signal for help.
You should be able to access the brake lights from inside the trunk. You may need to pull or pry a panel off to get to them. Once you have access to them, rip the wires out of them. Then try to push or kick the lights through so that they fall out of the back of the vehicle. You can then signal to motorists or passersby by sticking your hand out through the hole. Even if you're unable to push the lights out, if you disconnect the wires, you increase the chance that whoever is driving the vehicle (if you've been abducted) will get pulled over by the police. ................ |

by punching out the left or right signal/stop light and would put my hand through it and wave to show someone im there. If we are in a place with no one around. I wait until the truck is open and pounce on the guy and slap his ears, this will cause extreme pain. And while the person is in pain, I will proceed to kick where it really hurts and then I run away!! |

you kick out the back lights and start waving your hand...others will see and call for help, but the kidnapper wont |

It really depends on the car. If you are in a SUV you could climb over the seats. If you were in a sedan just start banging on the roof like a crazy person soon the top will come off. |

You must locate the door lock cylinder, connected to it will be a metal rod which is then connected to the truck lock latch. If you rock this rod you will disengage the locking mechanism. Also, newer vehicles, complying with the latest federal automotive regulations, have a glow in the dark plastic tab inside the trunk, by pulling on it you will release the door latch immediately! |

i have worked for car dealerships for many years, most newer models have an internal release. you have not stated you've been "abducted", just "locked in". in the case of abduction, you could pull 1 or more brake/tail-lite bulbs out, or pull the wires out leading to them, this may attract attn from police. as for "removing the brake lites" (lenses or covers), that could prove quite difficult w/o tools! |

1.Look for something in the trunk and smash your way out
2.Punch your way out
3.Yell your way out
4.Kick your way out
5.If your Chuck Norris you wouldn't be locked in there in the first place
6.Wait your way out |

many trunks now come with a release inside the trunk so i would use that, if it didnt then i would use my cell phone to call for help, if i didnt have my cell phone i would yell for help |

kick down the back seat, its easier than the trunk lid |

Personally i would rip at any wires i see and then smash out the back taillights and stick out my hands so people can see that I'm in some dude's trunk. Or just call 911 on my cell phone. |

Well a lot of cars have safety buttons, so first I would try pressing that...and if it didn't have one, that I'd start screaming and banging on the door. |

I've heard that you are supposed to try to kick the tail-light out... while it might not necessarily create an opening wide enough to get out of a broken tail light may get the car pulled over and then you can scream and carry on so the police want to see in the trunk.
Secondly, the space you create kicking the tail lights out would work for reaching through and waving/giving hand signals for help!
Depending on the type of car you might be able to kick your way out through the back seat as well. |

Almost every modern car has a release tag or lever inside the trunk lid to prevent anybody being locked in. |

If I'm lucky, it would be one of those cars where the backseat folds down. Convenient if you want to stick something long in the car. Inconvenient in you wanna keep live people in the trunk. |

Most new cars have an inner release---its a built in cable with a handle---NO CAR has an air tight trunk--so you will not smother--you could probably break through the rear seat with enough pushing. Look at your trunk lock now--is it easy to see how it operates?? All locks are mechanical--parts have to move--so look to see what moves and what you would need to operate it. IF you are really scared that you might get put in the trunk--put a flashlight and a good pry bar in the trunk NOW. |

Most newer cars have inside trunk releases. But even the older ones you could get out of with very little effort. Just turn the latch from the inside and the trunk will pop open. |

If it's a newer car I would feel around on the trunk lid for the yellow plastic "emergency release tag" and pull it, and jump out when the trunk lid pops open. |

Wait for the car to stop. Hope i was in a newer car that has the little 'escape pull thing' built in the trunk- pull the lever jump/roll out and run like..well ya know!! lol |

you try to break out the tailights and if the police see it they would pull the car over |
|

Steve
 |
you can either go through the back seat or use the safety release on the trunk, most cars have them |
|

Two options: Pull the lever inside of the car to release the trunk. Most cars have this emergency device
OR
Kick out the back lights of the car and wave your arm out so people can see you and help. |
