in my state ct you don't have to have both hands on the wheel but you do have to be in control of the vehicle and that is open to interpretation

In the UK you can drive a motor vehicle if you have no hands at all never mind on the steering wheel. The requirement is you must be able to control the vehicle so it needs to be constructed or adapted to suit the individuals disability.

No, why would there be? All you have to do is make sure you control your car and drive safe and you will be alright. I drive with 1 hand all the time or sometimes 2 and it just depends what I feel like doing.

No, just common sense. If you were in an accident and the other driver testified under oath that you were driving one handed, you could have problems - the charge here in UK would be "driving without due care and attention"

There is nothing in the Statutes about it, but there are other laws that may be interpreted to that. Examples could be careless driving or wreckless driving if you are beligerent when driving with or without two hands.

No. At least, not at the federal level. Maybe your town/city/county etc has something on the books about it, though.

how are you going to change gear :P lol

no the law says you need to be in control not that you need two hands on the wheel. becasue you can be driving one hand on the wheel the other hand, changing gear or the radio. still perfectly safe

No, but safety dictates you should.
