It is simple. A texting driver isn't paying attention to the road and could potentially hit and kill someone regardless they are in a car or on foot. Second, both of a texting driver's hands are not on the wheel where they are supposed to be, therefore they do not have good control of their vehicle. I think drivers who text are idiots who do not belong on the road because they can seriously injure or kill someone. |

What if a child steps in front of you for the second that you look down at your phone?

Oh my God this is the most ridiculous question, there is no way you can be serious. Doing any activity where you take your eyes of the road is dangerous. Texting while driving is pretty much the same as reading a book while driving yet no sane person would attempt that.
Also you have a beer in one hand and your mobile in the other? You don't deserve to have a license! |

Just because you have not been in a accident while texting, does not mean it is safe. Looking at the phone while driving distracts drivers, it only takes a single millisecond for something to go bad. |

Yeah they should totally teach the proper technique. I bet all of the morons that crash while texting are sitting there staring at their phone, taking 5 minutes to type "will you blow me later?". They obviously were never taught the proper way of doing things. You can text with one hand without even looking at your phone. If you get a text message, it takes a nano second to read it. It takes longer than that to find a good station on the radio. Maybe they should remove radios out of the car, too. |
