Do you think Palin's daughter should make an?

adoption plan?
Additional Details
To be clear, none of these responses will be forwarded to the poor dear, I'm asking what you think she should do, not suggesting that we dictate her path.

Were I her, I would abort.

I've worked with pregnant teens for many years and very few make excellent parents. They all want to be good parents but their own developmental needs are in direct opposition to the babies developmental needs and usually the teenagers needs win out in the long run. As the doll stage wears off and the friends go away and they miss hanging out with their friends, and staying up all night means it was with a crying sick baby not a really cute guy...the excitement and energy wears off and the problems begin.
So yes, adoption is a good option and abortion are good options if you want to save the teenagers' lives... having the baby is a good option if the teen and the teen father are ready to give up their lives and live for the benefit of their child. We all have options, I wish other pregnant teens were given the same white glove treatment as the GOP is giving this girl. I want both the teens to start working full time jobs, to live independently from their parents and fully take on the adult responsibility that they took on by engaging in adult behavior.

let me ask you this first...if you were in sarah palin shoes....what would you do?...but HELL no...her and her boyfriend are happy and much in love...she has the love and support of her family even if her boyfriend wasn't gonna be there..

No, but I also don't think that pregnancy automatically means she should get married either. I would hope she would give it some time, have the baby, and then make sure to get on birth control so she doesn't have another until she can financially and emotionally support the one she is having.

Clearly we are all free to have our opinions but does it really matter.

Why should the girl abort?? Is the life she carrying not of value and consequence?? For crying out loud...so often we hear older folks talk about the "good ole' days". During those days wasn't it very often the custom of marrying very young and having babies directly there after?? The only difference here is that the girl is not married.....but planning on it.

Leave the girl alone...some day her baby will be prowling the world wide web and Google Grandmother Palin's name and see that many people thought he/she should have been an abortion....what a complex, eh??

The number one determining factor for whether this gal will sink or swim is support system....she has plenty.

well, if she aborts, or had aborted, someone would find out and use it against her mom, saying that her mom wants abortion to be illegal even though her daughter just had one. plus, i really believe every child should have a chance at life.

No, of course not.

No. I think what Palin is doing to her daughter is horrible.

I think its sad she had to do it once just so her mother could save face.

There are people that are in la la land that don't believe it but the evidence proves otherwise.

In photos taken after the birth, Palin's daughter always has the baby placed over her own stomach to hide the bulge and Palin herself has a flat stomach.
Palin pulling her daughter out of school for over 8 months during the pregnancy.
Palin claiming her water broke while in Texas and then 10 hours later hopping on two flights to Alaska over 8+ hours long.

Yep, how many woman fly around on a plane after their water breaks. I'm all for career advancement but not at the expense of my family.

i would NEVER, EVER suggest a person use adoption as a way out of parenting.

I'm not in any position to judge what Miss Palin, her boyfriend and her family decide to do.

No I do not. From what I understand she is getting married and going to raise her child. Since she has made this decision why would she need to make an adoption plan that she has no intention of carrying out? Wouldn't that be misleading and possibly hurtful to another. I think she will do fine, I know a lot of young girls that kept their baby's and did a great job of raising them. A couple of them were even younger than this girl is. I think people should let her live her own life and make her own decisions and not try to make them for her as it is not their life to lead or their decision to make.

maybe McCain would want to raise it...

No. She's willing and able to parent, she wants to raise her baby, and she has the loving support of her family.

An adoption plan wouldn't even make sense in this case. There's no reason for it.

Erinn
Why would she? The entire time she has made it known that she and her baby's father will be getting married and taking responsibility for the baby.

Who could even comment on this seriously. This is a personal choice they need to make, we can't say what they should do. We don't even know them.

Andraya
Nope. No reason for adoption in this case, at least no reason that I can see.

For once I actually agree with you, shocking, I would abort if I were in her shoes as well. But I'm not in her shoes now am I?

If she has support and the resources, I think she should keep her baby. I wouldn't marry the dad though. No way! At least not for awhile. I don't support shotgun marriages.

No. In fact I'll go further and state that no woman or girl should make an adoption plan while pregnant.

Paula Christine
I don't think it is our responsibility or our decision to make. I give her props for being responsible and handling her business. HER business.

why???
teenagers can make great parents weather everone thinks so or nott

Not. It seems she wants to raise her child. Therefore, she should do so. She has the support of her family. It's her choice.

Please do not publicly accuse Felicita1 of lying. You have no proof or absolute knowledge to the contrary of her personal experiences.

Hi Suzy,

Adoption? No. Why should the child be relinquished to strangers? I agree that if Bristol Palin did not want to be a parent, abortion would certainly have been an option she could have considered earlier in her pregnancy. She has clearly made the choice to bring her child into the world. She has every right to keep her child in the family. The baby has a right to be raised by his/her own family as well.

Don't forget the baby also has a father. We don't have any evidence that Bristol or her fiance are drug addicts or child abusers. The family certainly appears to have resources. Adoption is for extreme cases where the child is either in physical danger, the child's parents are deceased, or there are no other relatives willing and capable of raising a child. At this point, none of those factors are present.

Being single is not a reason by itself to relinquish a child to strangers to raise. I understand they have plans to marry soon anyways. Even if they did not, single parenthood is certainly an acceptable option today. AP's rates of divorce equal the rates of the general publics' so there is no guarantee of 2 parents with adoption.

The fact a pregnancy was unplanned is not a reason to give away the baby either. Plenty of married people have unplanned pregnancies and they raise their own children too.

I will not even go into the long-term effects that adoption can have on adoptees & natural families. Suffice to say, it's a large risk factor for issues later.

In summary, I do not think adoption is necessary. I wish Bristol & her family the best.
