American celebrities want to advance their business abroad, so they adopt children abroad. Also they don't want to adopt a complete loser, and in America, their choice is usually the product of loser parents, thus bad blood of the children. There it is, you have the truth. |

They want to be MORE famouse |

Great question! I guess they think its more benevolent to adopt from a foreign 3rd world country I have also heard that they say that American kids have it better than kids in underdeveloped countries. |
|

i think they feel the need is more overwhelming in other countries. |

Because, it's, like, American kids are soooo, like, YESTERDAY, and like, foreign models are like, so, like, NOW!
You can get them in all sizes and colors and they look, like, SOOOO GGGOOOD in the publicity shots!! And, like, the ones from Africa, like, sort of cover up the droopy parts in the pictures.... |
|

i give good answers :)
|
it takes longer to adopt in the states... that and then some say its because the ones from other countries live in poverty |

Maybe because the only thing they like that is made in america is the almighty dollar. |

The adoption system in America is so ridiculously long and complicated, and then the birth mother can turn around and take the baby back. It's faster and easier for them to get a foreign baby, plus they probably feel that they are really rescuing that child from a desperate situation. |

Totally agree with Katie, was going to say the same thing |

with american babies its a much longer process and a mom can try to get her rights back for that child in the future. also they probably feel that children from other countries are poorer and will have more of a struggle in other contries than in the us. |

Yes, due to their unstable life styles and past drug use, many celebs do not meet the standards to adopt in the US. So, they have to go to the international adoption market where they can use their money to purchase a child. |

yea theres no enough publicity for doing it...thats why... |

In most private domestic adoptions the birth mother chooses the family for her baby. I doubt any birth mother would choose a celebrity couple to parent her child, she'd probably want her & her child out of the spotlight. |

they think that babies from other children are more in need and will make them more money then american children! stupid i know! |

Well when you adopt in this country they do all sorts of checks on people and when the past comes up with drugs ect they aren't to happy to let children go to homes like that and they also don't get the media coverage like they do for children from other countries. |

When celebrities adopt from foreign countries, it seems like they are having compassion on children who are less fortunate and have less opportunity than US children. Celebrities believe that their fans will like them more if they are cognizant of destitute countries. |

Just looking for attention! Maybe the scrutiny provided by DCF would not set too great for them. |

yo yo yo yo son

i wonder the same thing! i aslo hate how they donate money to starving people in other countries, yea im glad they're eating, but hey what about the people in our country! |

With celebrities, it's all about getting news coverage; The wilder the better. |

They do. Sheryl Crow and Claista Flockhart both adopted American babies. They just don't get as much attention as publicity hungry celebrities like Madonna, who has been able to attract considerable attention to herself by making a big show of adopting children from Malawi. |

Yes, you are missing something.
You're missing the fact that celebrity international adoption is Big News, whereas celebrities that adopt domestically don't sell as many magazines. More famous people adopt domestically than adopt abroad. They just don't get (or encourage) the media attention. |

So they see like "good" people. |

Have you missed something? I'd say you have. Quit reading just the headlines.
Many, if not most, celebrities adopt from their home countries. Of course, they don't make the tabloids because it doesn't sell magazines. If you want to enlighten yourself then read through these: http://celebrities.adoption.com/famous/adoptive-parent-bios.html |

I think they are trying to sound all caring and stuff since they adopted from other countries. I wondered the same thing |

I bet that part of it is that they feel there's less chance of the baby's biological parents coming out of the woodwork and cashing in and making a fast buck selling their story etc, if the parents are extremely poor non-English speakers from another continent. |

Adoptions of babies of another nationality seem to be more publicized. |

Doodlestuff

They do, but they adopt without all the fanfare. To be fair, there isn't much Madonna can do privately. I just don't see why she adopts kids that HAVE a parent when there are so many who have none. |

it supposedly makes them good ppl to help the kids in third world countries, i think its all for publicity but that's just my opinion |
