I don't know who they are, but as long as they are safe and HEALTHY then who cares. If this is all by fertility then I would ask how they are paying for so many?
Who the heck are they? I guess I will google them.
Cheers. |

I'll answer with two questions:
Would they still have babies if they weren't on TV?
Would they still be on TV if they weren't having babies? |

I adore the Duggars. the nutballs. She's got a goofy smile that won't quit and he's a sport. |

It's not my place to judge their reasons for having so many children...all their kids appear to be very happy, faithful, and glad to be a part of a big family.
I agree with previous answers...as long as they aren't hurting themselves, each other or anyone else...why is it our concern? |

It isn't something I would ever do, but I don't have a problem with them doing it. 19 more people isn't going to drastically increase the world's population, and there are children in far more urgent need of help then theirs. |

They do have the right to choose how many kids they want, however it is selfish to ignore the problems that babies face when women give birth over the age of 40.
I guess we have to hope that Michelle gets menopause soon so that there will be less babies with serious health issues. |

i hate that show but i love to watch it for some reason lol!!!!
i would never want that many kids, but like 7rin said as long as they r good parents i dont care if they have a million kids! its a free country! |

I'm not going to judge them for having so many-at least they can support them, so it's their business. However, I think it's getting dangerous for Michelle and 19 kids WITH a mom is better than 30 withOUT one. Personally I think it's time for her to quit to make sure she sticks around for the ones she already has, but again-not my business |

i personally wouldnt do it but they take proper care of them. to each their own. |

Why is it so many people are supposedly pro choice when it comes to a woman's reproductive rights, but when a woman wants to actually have children, these same people say it's bad?
They support their children and get no assistance from the government.
They love Jesus.
So they wear weird clothes and have strange hair.
Just because it isn't for you or me, doesn't make it wrong.
And it wasn't because of her age that she had the baby early.
Anyone can get pre-eclampsia or have gallbladder issues. (um, hello, I'm 27 and had to have it removed after my first bab) |

I have nothing wrong with it. They are allowed to have as many children as they want, and why should it matter to us.
The kids are getting an education, well-behaved, mannerly, safe, healthy, clothed, fed, have toys to play with and a bed to sleep in, etc. And their parent's use ZERO dollars from the government/tax payers.
I applaud them for doing such a wonderful job (most parents can't properly raise 1-2 kids anymore these days) raising their children.
However, I do think it is time to be a bit more careful and to consider the risks of child-bearing at their ages. |

If they can afford and raise all those kids while giving them equal love and attention, then fair play to them, if not, then someone should start using birth control/condoms. |

Media ho's. I think it's gross they are pimping out their little kids like that. Their kids dont really know if they want to be on TV.
I think Michelle Duggar is just as bad as those creepy pageant Moms. She's too old to be having babies, and its not fair to keep having them and making the older kids take care of them. Oh, and home perms and Mormon-esque clothes should be considered abuse. |

I think they would make a great advertisment for birth control. |

Um how is a 1 lb 6 oz baby healthy? This child was born at 25 weeks and barely survived...
Seriously, I'm all for large families but for the Duggars it is to the point that they are no longer producing healthy offspring. Premature underweight children have tons of health problems that never go away. They need to get on some kind of birth control for the sake of the health of their future kids. Sure, the next one may be carried to term but is it really worth the risk? We are talking about health problems that will cause suffering for the rest of the child's life. Risking that is just bad parenting... |

It think it's about time they close up the ol' hole.
No offense to them, because I think their children are beautiful and healthy. But I watched the video of them on The Today Show and the way they spoke about the whole thing concerns me. They didn't show much concern for what happened. It was more like a "she's such a cute baby" attitude rather than a "we need to be more careful now that we are having children at an older age" attitude. |

They need to STOP having kids and concentrating on the ones they do have. They make the older ones help out with the younger ones more than they should and that is not fair in my opinion. They can not possible give individual attention to each one on a daily basis and them kids are missing out! |

Not my business, not yours either. They provide and care for their children, can we complain about something else?
what does this have to do with adoption? |

yes...lets all turn off the tv. stop reading their story, and allow them to fizzle into oblivion. when their ratings drop, they will be canceled.
oh...and michelle should really cut that mullet...and her fallopian tubes. |

I think the Duggars have every legal and moral right to bear as many children as they wish, as long as they aren't abusing them, which they certainly don't seem to be, and can meet their basic needs, which they do seem to.
I disagree with a lot of their parenting decisions, including the extreme sheltering, the invasive reality TV show, the lack of attention to academics, the massive family size, and the amount of parenting responsibility (not just chores, but actual basic childcare) passed on to the other children.
That said, there are MUCH worse things they could be doing than producing children and taking care of them, nor are they breaking the law in any way, so I don't criticize them too harshly even though I don't agree with them on a lot of things. |
