What's your connection to adoption?

I know some people have more than one- like they're adopted and have adopted, ect. I would be curious to know if anyone is an adoptee, birthmother, AND AP. I have heard of cases where someone relenquished a child and than adopted later, so it's not impossible Additional Details Jeez, why all the thumbs down for the APs? Last I checked people didn't raise children out of meanness

I was a young, scared, pregnant woman who considered adoption for my then unborn daughter.
After a lot of research, soul searching, and praying I realized that I needed her as much as she would need me. |

Proud adoptive mom.
Hoping to do so again through private or public.
EDIT: The TD's are from those who don't agree with the position of the poster...regardless of whether they are adoptees, adoptive families or birth/first/bio parents. Everyone has an opinion. Especially if you have the nerve to state you want to adopt again.
It's a straight up question with direct answers. No one should be giving or getting TD on this one. |

I was adopted a year after birth. I've never met my birth parents, nor do I know much about them. But really, it's not that bad. It doesn't make much of a difference to me. It all just seems like my adopted parents are my birth parents. |

I'm a transracial and international adoptee. No other ties to adoption. I personally couldn't bring myself to relinquish since I know the pain that adoption causes, and I know I will never adopt. |

Personally, my connection to adoption is that my boyfriend (fiance. Whatever. We have been together for almost 4 years) is adopted. At first I was kind of clueless. He has two adopted parents of a different race and a mother from his home country who doesn't speak english. He was really excited to introduce me to both. I have learned a lot about adoption in the last 4 years. Mostly through yahoo! answers adoption.
One day I would like to do foster care. One day is a long way off though. We still have much more to learn before committing to something as huge as that. |

My first mother was unofficially adopted by her aunt and uncle. When she was a baby her father's sister who lived in the countryside was lonely and said to the mother "It's not fair you've got 2 girls, I haven't got any, let me borrow one". So my FM went to live with her, 2 hours away from her bios in the days when transport was a big deal (no cars, no money for trains). It was never made legal, she kept her original legal name, although everyone there called her Katy instead of Kathryn.
When she was getting married somebody said to her "Oh Kathryn, history always repeats itself."
She gave me for adoption then later adopted 4 older siblings. (11, 12, 13)
So she is all 3. |
