Very sad and makes them sound like used cars.
But of COURSE this means this is the way all infant adoptions are done, and ALL Paps are "licking their chops" right? We are ALL looking for these kinds of listings to find our special baby, right?
That attitude is just as disgusting as listing babies like used cars. |

Besides thinking this is extremely disgusting, I was wondering about HIPPA laws. Can you post this kind of info up? I know there are no names, but still. It strikes me as very wrong. Then again, everything about this is very wrong. |

The terms they use are disturbing enough, but listing them all like they are selling used cars dehumanizes the child before they are even met. It's bad enough that a child is facing this, but, what a horrible way for a child to start out a relationship with a new family. I could never seriously respond to an adoption process in this manner. |

God, I wish I could take the adoption agent counseling job in fort worth just so I could talk these girls out of giving up their babies for adoption. To let them know they are not alone that they should parent their child. That they are what are best for their baby. It is natural for the baby to want and need it's natural mother.
These prices for babies make me sick. It is truly wrong. To put a price on a baby. Why don't these adoptive parents just use a surrogate. You pay basically the same amount and the surrogate knows she is only being used to carry a baby and she gets paid for it.
I feel sorry for those that can't have a baby of their own from their bodies but they need to hire a surrogate and not be using an adoption agency that talks young and poor women out of their babies. |

geez, 20K for an alcohol effected baby, no wonder the pro-lifers get so nasty on here - they are sitting on a gold mine.

Ugh. The profit motive should have no place in adoption. It SHOULD be about finding homes for kids who need them, not lining someone's pockets. |

It looks like the classified section of any local newspaper...how is this even legal? is it semantics? Saying they are available "situations" rather than just outright saying the truth, they are selling babies? i really feel for those poor kids, bought like cattle at auction. |

Since we all know that baby's are not sold why are the {ahem} adoption fees for a African American baby ten to fifteen grand LESS than the adoption fees for a caucasian/African American baby?
And it cost more to adopt a baby whos Mom did drugs than it does to adopt a baby whos Mother drank.
Crap like this should be proof that baby's are bought and sold every flippen day!! |
|

June Cleaver Would Be Appalled

I think I just threw up a little.
Both at the posting of babies as if they're slightly-used vintage cars, and at the drug use during pregnancy.
*sigh*
Seriously. If you want to buy love, buy a golden retriever or a beagle. (Though puppies are one situation where adoption is always a good choice!)
ETA: Oh, what? Thumbs down because I criticized a woman using drugs during pregnancy?
*rolleyes* |

My God, they're listed like cars or houses. Situation? Nice euphemism. I don't get the range of $30-35K. Will you have to pay more if the baby has all fingers and toes present at birth? I also see the bargain bin prices on the potential FAS and pot babies. Sick!
However, please note: Not all P/APs find this to be acceptable! I sure as hell don't! |

That is really shocking..
The cheaper ones remind me of cars as well
The non caucasian = "Reliable - dent in the bonnet and a couple of scratches - other than that in good order"
The drug or alcohol affected = "With some money and attention could be a good do-a-upper, otherwise going to the reckers."
The Caucasian = "Not sure what model this one is, but is very reliable and once you are at the driver's wheel you can steer this beauty into your dreams" |

On today's CBS Sunday Morning they had a segment on Surrogates:Redefining Motherhood. For a mere $25 to $40 k you can have a baby with your very own DNA. But the surrogates SWEAR it's not for the money! Even after it was mentioned that one surrogate's husband needed surgery, so she became a surrogate mom a second time.
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/01/25/sunday/main4751784.shtml
Nope. It's not "selling babies". Hmmm Two pregnancies and I can get up to $65,000! That'll buy a home in some states! Oh...but I digress.
I'm sure it's all to cover the costs of having the babies.
ETA: I asked a question recently about "re-adoption" fees in IA (reportedly up to $4k) & found it was for court costs to re-adopt the child in a US court upon arrival after adopting in the child's homeland. My husband asked, isn't that kinda like a tariff? |

Yeah, I saw this blog. That made me sick. Like a Carny at a State Fair, HiyaHiyaHiya, step right up and get your red hot babies!!! GAGME!!!!

There are no words to describe how despicable this is.
Is there some way we could get a story out about this sick blog to the media or someone that could do an expose' about these "situations"? |

Dear Sunny,
It is disgusting. These poor children. I love that these babies are on the block MONTHS before they are even born. (No coercion here! Having people breathe down your neck during what is practically your entire pregnancy is such a great way to help women make an unpressured "choice" after labor and delivery. *BARF*)
What really gets me is #4. Highest "fees" of the bunch - even without knowing the gender (because is isn't DEVELOPED ENOUGH TO TELL YET). That wouldn't have anything to do with it being the ONLY caucasian baby now would it?
Baby-sellers.
Racist too.
Lovely.
ETA: Oh, wait, my bad. They're "Christian" so its okay.
*hurl*
ETA2: Wow. I am going to be sick. I just figured out how that whole "business" does its "business". I Googled the phrasing and got several different blogs and the "Parent Agency" also. I don't think adoptees can be called "Flying Monkeys" on this board anymore - somebody else is usurping the title.
And I forgot to point out how these expectant mothers are referred to as "BM"s. Really. How classy can these "people" get?
I wonder what their "finder's fee" (commission) is. |

What level of education must one possess in order to be a baby seller...I mean, "adoption consultant?"
Actually, the real question should be: How damaged must a person be in heart and mind in order to want to BECOME an "adoption consultant?" |
|

LinnyG
 |
The bigger question for me is after reading everyone's answers & how disgusted they are, there will still be readers who will pay the price, either domestically, or internationally. Or, they'll call them "adoption fees".
Its still human trafficking. |

SICK, SICK, SICK... proof infant adoption is child traffiking or at the very least, infants are just products to be purchased. PASS THE BUCKET.

Hi Sunny,
Disgusting! No matter what they claim, it's not selling "situations." It's selling BABIES! Selling humans makes me sick, especially the part about different babies being sold for different prices based upon their race.
You know what else is disturbing? Those who participate in this see nothing wrong with it. They think they are doing a great thing.
I think I know the source you are citing, and their accreditation status is unknown.
