Additional Details Why are so many people afraid to anser the question? Instead they get on their high-horse and soapbox to rant about other issues. Just answer the question people. It's basically a yes / no queestion.

Actually NO I wouldn't...I can see how a person would feel that way...they don't value human life..just their own....I believe every human being is precious..the more the better...if you feel otherwise you need a heart check! |

Most birth control is not 100% effective. If you're not married there's a form of birth control that is 100% effective, 100% of the time, & it's free. It's called abstinence. |

I think you have made a mistake and put this question in the wrong section.
Unless of course you're implying that poor people whose birth control has failed need to give up their babies. |
|

Of course. Unfortunately a lot of people are too dumb to use birth control properly or at all. And then not helping them out financially just means the kids will grow up in even worse situations. |

Yes. Free birth control is available everywhere. The problem is, people don't use it, or don't use it properly. Just read a few days in the pregnancy section and you'll find endlss variations of "My boyfriend and I were just messing around and (insert too much information about what they did here) could I be pregnant?" |

Sure, I believe in accessible birth control. But birth control failure does happen. I also support government funds to help struggling families along, but not to the point where it becomes a lifestyle choice. |

Birth control is not 100% guaranteed. |

No.
While I think birth control should always be cheap and easily accesible, I think it is important to keep social welfare programs in place to take care of children and people who really need a little help. America is not a country that should turn away from its people in their time of need.
Besides, there are a lot of people (like myself) that still would not take the pill because of adverse reactions. |

There's a phrase "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink" that would apply very well. There is affordable and even free birth control out there to be had, but you can't force somebody to make use of it. Even if you could, it's not 100% effective. |

I support both things. I believe if women want birth control to help control unwanted pregnancies, it should be available to them. I also think that if women choose to have children, that those CHILDREN deserve to have a system in place that helps those women provide food and shelter and clothing and other necessities for them. Personally, I don't really see programs like WIC as being programs put in place just to help mothers. I see them as support systems for the children. |

Children are not vermin. Children are not a luxury item meant only for the rich and spoiled.
Children are the next generation. And I do not think that only rich people should have children.
Unplanned doesn't mean unwanted. I am old enough to remember when birth control was illegal in some states in the USA...even for married couples.
Oddly, in those days, children seemed to get along okay in their families...even when they were unplanned as they almost always were.
I do think that people should be able to use birth control and I support that help.
But birth control often fails. If children are born, they should be welcomed and raised by their parents..married or unmarried.
Families have a right to stay together.
Businesses should not be profitting from the separation of infants from their mothers and fathers.
ETA: I think what you really want is sterilization for poor people. |

Sure.
How do you make people take birth control? |
|

M
 |
I sure would. Many of those children are unwanted, unplanned, and some are had only for the welfare. Unwanted children cost society a lot more in money. Plus, those children have many problems. Children should be wanted and raised well. |

Oh god yes.
Id supply birth control for 10 women each year if that was part of the solution.
Sadly though...its not |

Romany

If it's just a matter of supplying birth control to those who want but can't afford it, then I'm all for it. But for those people who have children just to collect welfare (probably fewer in number than many people believe) - how would you enforce the use of birth control?
BTW - why is this question posted in Adoption? Will there be a followup? |

HELL YEAH!! Not because of paying for welfare, but because of all the things that come with an unintended pregnancy
