no, but you can become a liberal without going to school |

Unfortunately, No.
In order to practice law in a legal manner you would have to take and pass the BAR exam (which you know). This requires a law degree of some sort (Criminal, Forensics, etc.).
I'm not entirely positive but there may be an extremely minimal possibility of taking the exam without going through extensive study at a university or college. But, without the education background I would find it very difficult to find and/or hold a job for long.
Ask around at the closest Accredited Law School and find out for sure. There may be a loophole somewhere, and it never hurts to learn loopholes (Especially in relation to law). |

Yes- merely pass the bar exam. Its' tough but a few years in jail would sharpen your wits. No shiite. I myself am an ordained minister, justice of the peace, mechanical engineer and physicist of sorts as well as a willing drop out of some fairly prestigious institutions. |

I believe that you can "just take the bar exam" and should you pass it, you can get your license to become a lawyer. While it is rare, there are people who are self taught you know. |

Whilst I suppose it would be possible, I very highly doubt that you would make it. It's a fair amount of work to become a lawyer, and without going to school it would make it extremely hard. Maybe start going to school. Try making the time? :) |

No, I don't think so. I know you have to pass a bar exam even after you go to college and law school. I doubt if someone can just become a lawyer without some kind of credentials. |

I hope not. I sure wouldn't want to hire you for anything if I had a problem. |

Pass the bar exam. Getting hired at a good firm may be another story, but short answer is yes. |

Yes, it is possible and it is done all the time. All you need to do is pass a certain state's BAR exam. The real importance of having a law degree is so those who use your practice can see that you have received training and education. Most law firms will not hire a person without a degree, but if the person were to score at least next to the highest on the exam; then the lack of a degree might be overlooked. Every state has it's own regulations for attorneys and requirements the possess. So, it would be in your best interest to check your desired state's requirements. Whatever the case, it may take more time than you believe you have, but getting a degree will be the better than not having one. The more recognized the school, the more comfortable your client will be. |

You don't have time to go to school- but you have time to somehow independently and effectively learn all the things a lawyer needs to learn? |

I cannot believe this myself but in the certain states you can. Kentucky, California, Mississippi and Maine you can become a lawyer with out attending school. But the BAR exam is more expensive. The way they look at it is, that is Joe Schmo is going to come in without attending school to be a lawyer, then we are going to charge him. In the State of Virginia the BAR costs 275. In The states that do not require University Education expect that price to rise. |

There is a chance you could become a lawyer without college. But being a lawyer is already hard andd proving yourself would be even harder. |

Yes, the State of California allows you to practice law provided you accumulate several thousand hours working for an attorney as an apprentice and then pass the California Bar Exam.
This is called the "California State Bar Law Office Study Program"
The California State Bar Law Office Study Program allows California residents to become California attorneys without graduating from college or law school, assuming they meet basic educational requirements.[27] If the candidate has no college degree, he or she may take and pass the CLEP, or College Level Examination Program. The Bar candidate must study under a judge or lawyer for four years and must also pass the Baby Bar within three administrations after first becoming eligible to take the examination. |

Good luck with not attending school and passing the Bar exam. Only 50% of all applicants actually pass the California State Bar Exam even after completing law school. Wisconsin believes that if you can graduate from law school in Wisconsin, no bar exam is necessary; you are automatically allowed to practice law in that state, but only in that state.
Law requires a lot of research and writing. Without the ability, training, knowledge, and education to diligently represent your clients, you would be in violation of many ethic rules.
Go to school and do it right! Make the time......I am! |
