Can you have more then 2 citizenship/passports?

I currently have a valid australian and greek passport, could i possibly get a malaysian one aswell and have three passports.

also can a person be a Australia/greek/malaysian citizien at the same time?

and yes my father is malaysian, so i am entitled to a malaysian passport and citizenship as my father lives there.

my mother is greek and lives in greece.

i live in australia and have citizenship in australia and greece.

will australia allow me to have a greek and malay passport/citizenship?

Yes. Although it confusing and costly. The most passports a person can have depends on their nationality and what rules apply to them. For example people who hold nationalities with countries that allow dual citizenship can have at least 2 at once.

If you keep too many and take them out people will get suspicious though. Obviously if you take out too many border control can detain you.

I don't know of any country that 'recognises' dual citizenship.
Canada requests you give up the passport of any other country you have a passport for, but then says 'should you have another passport' (!) you'll only be protected by Canadian law/Embassy support if you entered the country using the Canadian passport.
The UK comments on the US' request to give up any other nationality by saying even if you give up citizenship, you still have it and that the US can't force you to give up any other nationality.
I think pretty much you can have whatever passports you're entitled too - even if one nation finds out you have others (and I'm sure they have records too), they don't care.

Australia and many passports - it being a commonwealth country I'm sure it holds to the same rules/ideas.

Does having other passports help any? Other than being more expensive to keep them all up?

Australia allows dual citizenship, so it shouldn't have a problem with you having a third citizenship, it does happen that people have more then 2 citizenships.

Does Malaysia recognise dual citizenship or will you be required to renounce your other citizenships to take it up? If Malaysia doesn't allow dual citizenship then you can't take it up

This page on Wikipedia seems to indicate that Malaysia doesn't allow dual citizenship so perhaps you ought to ask at Malaysian Embassy

yes but ONLY if ALL countries involved actually ALLOW dual citizenship.

since malaysia does not allow dual citizenship then NO you cannot apply for it without losing the other two citizenships you already have..

In theory, you can have multiple citizenships and if you're eligible for citizenship under more than one country's laws, you can have the corresponding passport.

For you, the answer involves the laws of three countries- Australia, Greece and (now) Malaysia. Remember, some countries require you to give up another citizenship; some don't.

Malaysia is included within the rare countries who do not allow dual citizenship.Yes you could have received the citizenship of Malaysia on descent but it is not permitted.
As for Australia it is allowed.
