Do I require a visa?
Find answers to your legal question.

Do I require a visa?

Can someone point me out to somewhere I can find out whether or not I need a visa for the following places?
Argentina, Bolivia, Chile and Brazil.

Thank you.

P.S. I'm not a US Citizen but I live here.
Additional Details
I've travelled W. Europe and E. Europe so I've been able to find this type of info on their consulate website or by calling but for some of those places I can't find anything. I know residency in the US doesn't play a role in visa needs. Anyway...I hold a haitian passport (Haiti). I did some search last night and I don't need a visa for Peru and Argentina. Also spent the night calling phone numbers of consulates in Boston which are only labeled "Consulate Offices". So I got some numbers but still need to know if I need a visa for Venezuela, Chile, Bolivia and Brazil. Also need the phone numbers for the last three as well. Any help?

Thanks

Interesting...firstly I think you should contact the State Department and inform them or your travel plans. They may
allow you to travel on your current Passport (from your
original Country) or tell you that what you need to do in
order to travel and get back here without hassles

If you will search using the terms (visa-{country}) you will find your answers. It will take a little time but a more official answer than you will get here.

your question needs more informations, so we can answer you correctly , which country are you from ?
for all visas are not the same for all citizens .......
even if you live in the USA , your passport of origin is what you should tell us .:-)

If you are a US citizen, then yes, you need a Visa to visit Argentina, Bolivia, Chile and Brazil, whether as a tourist or on a business Visa.

Please add what you citizenship is, this Visa requirement varies based on your citizenship, as per reciprocity on the country's foreign relations. The country of residence plays little on these requirements, so the fact that you live here in irrelevant. You can also just contact their respective Embassies or Consulates here to find out.

Without knowing what your citizenship is, this question cannot be answered.

Yes. I think u need to get visa(s) because u are not a us citizen or not a permenant resident. For example, my husband is orginally from Haiti and is a permenant resident. Also, He hold his Haitian passport and it expired recently but just applied for renewal passprt. (Luckily, we both went to Haiti last year which he dont need visa because he is perma. resident) Anyway, if u still want traveling other places in South America, I think you should consult with with US embassy for visas.

Good luck!

why not ring their embassies. Or ask a travel agent, they're sometimes helpful, especially when you're paying them money for an airfare

The "L" Word
Contrary to previous answers to this question, U.S. Citizens only required visas for travel to Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Suriname (in South America). If you are a foreign national, each nation determines their visa either on reciprocity (tit for tat)

For nationals of all other nations, you should visit either the official web page for your nation's foreign affairs department or the web page of the embassy/consulate of the nation(s) [embassy/consulate in your nation] you plan on visiting. They should list entry requirements.

Haitians will need visas for Bolivia and Brazil.
