Well if you had the choice of paying someone overseas $1.00 per passport or someone in a union $15.00 per passport here in the states (and then recouping the payroll by bumping the price of the american one by 100%) then which one would you choose. Please take a course in economics. |

Probably as the security clearance would take too long. That is where the expense and time is most often spent. In the Philippines, especially SPi, a PLDT (NYSE: PHI) company, they do not need security clearance. The production of ANY official document of the US Government is NOT controlled by the GOP. In case you haven't noticed. The Democrats have controlled both houses of Congress for just over 2 years and the White House since January.
The US Department of State, currently run by Hillary Clinton, produces US Passports in its own facilities. |

I'm not sure where you get your information, but the GOP (Republican party) doesn't have anything to do with the outsourcing of passports.
The state department is responsible for passport manufacturing. |

the books are all printed in the US, by US government facilities. there's a central printing facility in Arkansas, and there are central offices in different states to actually print up the personal information and put in the photos. The main office, the National Passport Center is in New Hampshire. |

What a bizarre question. What on earth could make you think 1) a political party has anything to do with the printing of passports or 2) that the minority political party, at its weakest point in decades, could be doing this.
Look, hate the GOP all you want, but at least snipe at them intelligently. |
