We name foods after the french, "french" toast, french "fries." Why do we continue this, and wonder why the french do not like us?

We name these food items with the prefix of "French" not after the French people, but because that is the location where that particular food originated. For example, Heffeweizen beer is not a tribute to the German people, but rather a tribute to where the beer originated. Same with Corona and Mexico. |

You have to ask the French about this. Even in French speaking Quebec, Canada, they aren't too fond of English speaking people.

We name foods after the french because...that's where the idea for those foods came from. It's not actually naming the food after the French people.
Don't worry though, the French don't actually like anybody, especially French-Canadians. |
