Sending off passport for Kenyan Visa and travelling in 2 weeks?

Hi all,

Am off to Kenya on my honeymoon on the 30th August, and we'd been trying to get hold of the Kenyan Embassy for WEEKS (calling, e-mails etc) as we didn't want to send off passports to people who didn't even answer the phone! Anyway, eventually answered and we've been told to send off our passports (plus fees etc) for our Visas, but I'm worried that as it's taken them so long we won't get our passports back in time!

We've been trying to do it in advance because of all of the horror stories we've heard about trying to get them at the airport, but obviously waited until we'd actually had some contact with them. They did say if we wrote "Urgent" on the envelope they'll try and get it turned around within a week, but are there any guarantees?

Do I have a leg to stand on if our passports don't come back in time??
