If the president wanted to break of ties with Israel, he wouldn't have met with Netanyahu last week. If he wasn't especially warm with Netanyahu, it was only to remind him that people who want respect should give it as well. Nothing wrong with that message. The official US position on Israeli settlements, Jerusalem and many other things hasn't changed for the past few presidencies. It's just that Obama tends to sound more like he means it than the previous occupant.

Maybe to save the citizens the 3-4 billion annually that the U.S. gives to Israel. That would be fine with me.

However, the Israelis repeatedly undermine the possibility of peace by establishing more new settlements in disputed territory. They need to curtail this or the world will begin to believe that they either don't want peace, or they want it only on their own terms.

your question is rather reaching but anyhow the reason the U.S. is angry with Israel is because the state has begun building settlements in the Palestine controlled East Jerusalem causing hostility and greater instability in the region during a time the U.S. was trying to broker a peace treaty between the two nations.

He's destroying diplomatic ties to all of our allies, and bowing down (sometimes literally) to Communists, Muslims, and other assorted extremist leaders. He grew up in a Muslim country with a hatred for the West, now he's in charge. Oh joy.
