Why don't we ever see the citizens of civilized countries protesting other country's embassies?

Like we see in places like Iran and France.
Additional Details
Here's a definition:
American hater - see Cyrus

I would question your sorces on everything you question. You likely believe everything bad about
America and Isreal and discount everything positive. That makes your opinion worthless, your contributions to the world are negative, you are just a hater. S the fooma buddy!

I take it you've never been any where near Embassy Row in the Washington D.C. area or the embassies in NYC.

I've seen protests at both places for years. FYI, France and Iran have several centuries of culture and history, unlike the United States.

First, can you just give me a very typical example of the kind. second, what could be a civilized country? how about your definition? If it does have a country as you have mentioned, in my opinion, that's because they are resorting to other ways to protect, like the goverment. or maybe they think it's useless to just parade outside embassies.

We do have citizens from civilized cities protesting in other embassies. You should look up for the following words in Yahoo or Google:

"Kareem Egypt protest rally"

There have been protests all over the world asking for the release of this young blogger who was taken to like 4 years in prison just for writing on the Internet against the government of Egypt.

Protests were held in New York, Washington, London, Paris, Rome, and some other places around the world. I have friends that joined the rallies in the first three protests and I also organized one in Guatemala.

Wow, Cyrus is mad! And bigoted! Cyrus needs to learn that spewing invective at invective doesn't make him look any more intelligent than the person he is criticizing.

To answer the question -- I think in many of our nations, we've grown too complacent. England should've retaliated against Iran by doing.... SOMETHING. Feeble protests to the U.N. just feeds madmen like Iran's President. I think specifically, they should've sunk the Iranian Navy ship that took those sailors hostage. Now Ahmedinajad has simply been emboldened by, yet again, Western inaction.

If you go to the Dept of State web site they advise against Americans doing this kind of thing in other countries. If you are anywhere near a protest, if you are a citizen from another country, then there is a good chance of being arrested and subject to that country's justice system.

I will be avoiding travel to certain countries during my vacation for this very reason.

Wow, the answers here have been terrific! It takes organization to protest. In most cases that organization is provided by (Iran) the government or (France) terrorist groups. However, it was fashionable for leftists to protest aparthied in front of the South African embassy in the 1980s. Protests are impotent. Notice the civilized countries act and don't throw rocks. We didn't yell at Afghanistan over 9-11. We invaded and stopped the Taliban.

That is a great question. I think it is because people from "uncivilized" countries tend to be stirred up more through their propaganda machine, thug governments.

The U.S. on the other hand, has it's own political pundits who go to enemy countries in order to stir up trouble for their own governments. (i.e.- Pelosi)

In civilized countries people have to get up and go to work in the morning. In places like Iran they've got 40% unemployment, France 15% unemployment.

LeAnne
BB, you answered your own question by inserting the key word into your question - "civilized."

H
First of all, please do not call any country be uncivilzed. You mention two countries (Iran and France) which have a much older culture and a much longer history than the USA.

Embassies represent a foreign country in another country and any protests against this country will be brought to the embassies attention.

This can happen in any country which is involved in political disputes, wars etc.. How these protests are made depends a whole lot on the mentality of the protestors.

I call Germany a civilized country with civilized citizen. What do you think how many protests where going on in front of the US Embassy in Germany when USA invaded Iraq?

Bottom line is: in every country where protesting is allowed, people will.

Take care.
