actually i was thinking the same thing as the above poster. it should be raised to at least 18.
15, 16 : kids at that age are immature. they are still going through puberty at that age and can be emotional and can make irrational decisions that could cause a serious accident resulting in injury or possibly a fatality. |

i think it should be raised to 18 for obvious reasons. yes, some people your age are good-natured individuals, but most teenagers are just generally more reckless and immature than other age groups. besides, less people on the roads means less accidents. it's that simple. |

well first of all its like that already. You can start driving school at 14 1/2 and get your permit within the first week. Even though I'm young I also agree that the age should be 18 in which you can drive. I just got my license today. I'm 18. I never went to driving school , and at 16 i got in a car accident (drove illegaly) I realize it was my fault and I can say i was incredibly immature, and didnt know what I was doing.
I can say now that I dont even understand how I was driving at that age. |

isn't it already, given the existence of learner permits? |

I agree with the others, the driving age should be raised to 18. However a limited license for 16 year olds could be granted to and from work or school, maybe w/ passenger limitations.
If we used your logic, that "it is only one year, whats the difference"? well then why not 14 years old that's only one year or maybe 13 there has to be a clear line, and most states have drawn that line at 16. |
