If her insurance covers her to drive any vehicle, then claim on her insurance
If not, then you are going to pay to fix your car AND lose your no-claims bonus.

Nope --- as you said, she was insured as 3rd Party! You could take her to small claims to get claim the damages directly from her (or just ask her for the money to make the repair).

Basically, unless you own inurance covers 'all drivers' as fully comp, you;re going to have to cover the costs of the repair and then try and get some money from yout friend.

You're lucky that she had 3rd party insurance ...... many insurance companies (and the number is increasing) are no longer including 3rd party 'any other vehicle' insuance with policies.

If the car she was driving at the time of accident (your car) was fully comp then it's covered, if it was third party then its third party and if has no insurance then it's third party, so basically your insurance for your car hasn't increased by lending to her if that's your question, but you must know her well to lend her your car so I'm sure you two can come to some arrangement, oh of course if she stole the car then your insurance would pay out because it was stolen,

Nope. At best she would only be insured 3rd party on her own insurance. Unless you agreed beforehand that she was responsible for damage to your car you are probably out of pocket.

If her insurance covers any vehicle,you should be able to make a claim.

Love this - instead of going to the insurers for advice on car damage, you've come to us. You're gonna get a whole load of wrong answers & end up no wiser than you were before you asked the question. No most insurance follows the car not the driver. Have your friend check her policy, but I bet it will not cover her. Sorry

This question is lacking about 50% of the needed information we need. 1) insurance follows the car; if you have collision and liability coverage your company will pay for the damages less your collision deductible.
2) if your car DOESN'T have liability or collision but the person that was driving your car has these coverages on her car then her policy should extend to your vehicle.
3) if you and your girlfriend have NO insurance then the other party will have to claim the damage to their vehicle under their own collision coverage (and their insurance company will sue you for the entire amount).

i am sorry to say you dont stand a chance but there is a way out your or hers insurance do have a kitty pot for third party drivers or none insure drivers as i had a drunk driver hit me head on and left the seen

No, that's the chance you take lending a car to a person who is not on your policy as a named driver. Most fully comp policies only cover you for third party in someone Else's car.

just answered similar question,she is only third party if she dont own the car,therefor if it was her fault you get nothing,the owner of parked car can claim off her but not you,tell her you want cash for damage you can take her to small claims court for it,or better still if she wont pay up then lend her car and crash it into a brick wall
