You need to get your permit before you can get your license. You need to go to the DMV and take a written test, then when you feel ready, you can take your road test. |

Youd have to check with your states DMV office. In NYS you have to have your permit for 6 months before you can apply to get a license. So odds are you need to get that first, and follow your states regulations in order to get your full time over 18 license. |

ok now down to business -- I don't know if this is the same for all states, BUT, in California when you turn 18 you have the option of getting your permit & then taking the DL test about 2 weeks or so later w/o having behind the wheel training (which in CA is required to get your DL if you are under 18)

just go to the DMV to take your test. just remember to get there early because otherwise you wont be able to take it. I had to go at 6:30am. |

I was in this perdicament too. In North Carolina you can just take the test and get your driver license upon passing the test. I don't see why you couldn't go to your local DMV and take the test for the fee and get your license.
I think it's the same in all the states. |

I think all you have to do is complete 30 hours of driving and then schedule a road test. No permit needed. U might not even need the 30 hours. But i know for sure you dont needa permit |

it depends on the state but in most states you must have your permit of six months and the take your driving test in the car with the state trooper to get your permit you just go to the local dmv and take a really easy test make sure you have your social card and birth certificate with you if you still have any more questions or are still a little fuzzy you can just do a quick google search for the state name you live in and the the word dmv for example "texas dmv" if can fill in all the gaps |

In most states you can go straight to the full license. But make sure you have all your paperwork upon arrival to the dmv... check the dmv website in your state. |
