Like I told the judge "Rules are for fools that don't know how to act". I brake some law every day, you can't help it, there are to many laws. |

That is a dumb question. Thanks for the points, I guess I should really log off now. There is no need to break the law, if there is an assault on you or your family it is called self defense, not breaking the law. Don't lie, because it is fraud, no matter how you slice it. And you will get found out and busted, it is only a matter of time. What are we talking about???? |

ABSOLUTELY! |

Only for police officers. Police break the law every day. Almost everytime they stop someone and search them illegally they are breaking the law.
And yet this is a standard practice of police to break the law in order to stop people from breaking the law.
It would probably be alright if you saw a police officer raping a child to take a baseball bat and bust his head open, but it would probably be considered illegal, yet it would definately be ethical. |

Not really. |

I don't know that it's necessarily okay, but we do it everyday. |

Well, if the outcome is not affecting someone or something badly, I guess you have to break the law sometimes |

Everybody probably breaks the law daily. For example, did you speed on your way to work? |

Well, of course if you happen to be G. W. Bush...... but seriously, laws used to, and still should be made to protect the citizens, to keep them and their homes and property safe. If people go around breaking laws against humanity (and unnecesssarily harming animals/pets, etc....) of course they should not be allowed to be roaming around loose, as they are true dangers to society.
But lately, there are so many new laws that have been made, laws that make nearly everyone a "criminal" at one time or another, just for living their lives with no harm to anyone. These kind of laws, should not perhaps be broken in stealth, hoping not to be caught, but should be broken openly, and by everyone who disagrees with them. Laws that are not made in the best interest of the general public need to be changed or done away with.
So, I guess my answer would be "yes" sometimes it is not only O.K. to break the law, but necessary in order to keep our society from turning into a tyranny, where "they" say 'do this, don't do that', and we just cower and say, 'O.K.'. to the point where we no longer have any say over our own lives.
Sometimes, it seems as if it is already leaning towards that type of society. Either the meaning of the word, "Freedom" is drastically changing, or we are losing a lot of the Freedom that was guananteed to us in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. |

No. You may feel that the consequences of your actions are worth the risk (speeding, not wearing a seat belt) ETC..., However most laws are there for your protection. They were created most likely becuase soem dumbass hurt or killed himself or somebody else by doing the act that is now illegal. Some people may also committ a crime because they feel that another crime was committed against them and the courts will not do them justice. Is it wrong? Yes. you broke the law. Will a jury convict you? Maybe and maybe not. Example a man rapes your baby girl, you kill him and go to court and the jury sympathises with you and you get off. it happens. But braking the law is always wrong. No matter what. |

Either you're a moron or you're trying to incite a riot. Or possibly you find this amusing. Maybe you could be a little more precise in your question. The easy answer is NO !! |

There is a thin line between what is moral and what is legal. Sometimes what's legal isn't moral and what's moral isn't legal... but I'm all for doing what's moral even if it may break the law. You have to realize that some of those laws were made ages ago. Times have changed in so many ways. |

Yes. It's illegal for me to enter my neighbor's house without permission.
So if the house is burning and I run in to rescue her, that is technically still illegal. Try and get me arrested for doing so. |

good question. i am not sure. if you are breaking a law to help a fellow citizen maybe. some people may even break the law to help illegals with food, healthcare because they do notwant those people to die or suffer. but i guess it depends. |

The only time it is okay to break the law is to protect yourself or someone that is with you. You have the right to protect yourself from harm. |

Well, as an attorney i will tell you it is OK to break the law sometimes but you better have a very good reason. It is called a "justification" defense. It comes up rarely but is theoretically possible. |
