the answers given about calling the news is good advice....we have a guy on our local news channel named ken ammaro and he has a segment called I'm telling ken....and it is for consumers who get ripped off, pepple having problems with roads the county wont fix that arent travel worthy but must be travelled...and he calls these companies, counties for a response and usually a fix for the person filing the complaint....the news may help....also, i know you really cant do this but since the police say that animals arent their area....wouldnt it be interesting to see what their response would be if you called them and told them you wanted to report a murder?....bet theyd come running then...after all the animal was tortured and murdered...oh and by the way....alert the media while the dog is still in the yard...that should shake things up |

Next time call the local chapter of the Society for the Protection of Animals. Hopefully, these people will not get another animal!
For the smell problem you might call the police and tell them that you smell a dead body in the neighborhood. |
|

end is forever

Send the photos and a letter to all the newspapers in your area. Make the media report this story and the Police/Animal Control will eventually take notice! |

Wow. That is really heartbreaking.
Did you try and confront the owners?
This website has some really good info on what you should do: http://www.hsus.org/pets/issues_affecting_our_pets/animal_abuse_and_neglect/reporting_animal_abuse_or_neglect.html
I would call PETA.. they also deal with animal cruelty:
757-622-7382 and dial 2 |

animal control may have been by, but it may have been on a day when the dog had food and water, so they couldn't do anything about it. it's sad, but that's how it goes. i hate to say this, but if you have really done all that you say, and they still didn't help, then the next step is the media. you must inform the media because the police department won't want the bad publicity. i hate the media, but sometimes they must be a tool in getting things done. |

Go to the police dept. If you have a cellphone with camera or a digital camera take pics and go straight to the police dept and they will have to deal with it that is Animal cruelty and punishable by law. |

This is just terrible. Why do people get animals if they do not want to be bothered to take care of it? Definitely take pictures. Keep track of all the authorities you have spoken with. Call a local news station. Sounds like these people should be charged with animal cruelty at the very least. Such a sad story. |

go to the supervisor of animal control and file a complaint, then if that doesn't work go straight to the mayors office and file a complaint against the animal control, they are as guilty of killi ng that dog as the owners are and should be ashamed of themselves |

Take photos and put it all up on the web to shame them. Tell everyone in town. Call you local Humane society-- they may help. |

Try ASPCA
http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer
They might be able to offer you help on how to report or pursue this.
Also, call a local animal shelter for advice on resources in your specific community. Try yellow pages under "animal shelters" or "animal rescue." |

That is so awful.
DO take pictures. DO call the police again and threaten (and do) call the media. That is awful and since they have had two dead animals, what is to stop them from having another? Be persistent and I would also go around and rally up al of the neighbors and let them know what is going on. Hopefully, these people don't have children. If so, you better call CPS right away as there is a good chance they are being abused and/or neglected, as well. |

Call the health department! The rotting carcass of the dead dog presents a health hazard to the neighborhood. |

Hell, go knock the door and ask them wtf their problem is. I would.
Take a picture. As gory as it seems, if you want something to be done, you have to have proof it actually happened.
Contact the local humane society for direction and advise, file another written complaint with the police and animal control and let them know you are contacting the local media then do so. Decomposing animals are a health matter for humans as well.
Some people just make me sick. Why even have a dog, right? |

OMG- I am so sorry, that is terrible! Those people are disgusting, and it is even worse to think that no one wanted to help you! I do not know what you should do, but I just wanted to give you my sympathies. |

I am not sure where you are from, but where I am the sheriff's department has control over the animal control center. I would write letters to whoever is up top with any proof you have. Maybe a copy of your written complaint or pictures. Go as high as you need to, mayor, counsel, PETA, anybody and everybody you think might care. Write out a form letter and just change who it's addressed to, to save time. Letters are also usually taken more seriously than emails. This could be a huge embarrassment for your city, so I am sure someone will get back to you. Good Luck and I hope those a***holes get what they deserve! |

Animal control should have intervened when you complained the first time... still while this is no excuse, they are busy people. If these horrible people ever get another "pet", you need to be a lot more pro-active. Document with photos and a diary the treatment the animal receives - and try to physically go to the animal control or RSPCA /ASPCA centre - when faced with such evidence it will be more difficult for them not to act.
It's a shame that the poor dog involved has been so ignored that it is now dead - but it would now possibly be classified as a bio-hazard and should be reported to your local council.
Good luck with this, my heart goes out to you. xx |

do u have a humane society in the county or area you live in? if so, call them. their work is different is msome aspects as compared to animal control.

Call media, newspaper, etc...
I would also call your local health dept and city/township officials because it is a health issue and the city or township HAS to deal with it if you are living and paying taxes there.
Make it a party and have them all show up over there together! Have the news media people get there first! |

Take photos, call the ASPCA and the Humane Society! Everyone should be informed of this tragic situation. Call your local paper too.
This cannot be tolerated. Don't quit until it is resolved.
Thanks for caring. |

Call code enforcement and also call your local news or at least threaten Animal Control telling them you'll call the news if they don't show up in an hour. You can also call the animal protective society if you have one in your city. This shouldn't have come to this. |
|

If you have saved the written complaint, and remembered who you spoke with at the Animal Control and Police, you should take pictures, etc and go to the news.
Have them come by with their cameras.
P.S. if you do do this, please email me. I would like to see the story on the news. |
|

It's a New Day
|
I can't believe Animal Control isn't doing anything. I would go to the police station and demand to talk to a supervisor and insist that the owner be charged with animal cruelty. Don't give up, get the media involved if you have to, call your local news stations I'm sure they would jump all over it. |
|

Curtis

You take pictures, and inform your local news media, and tell them Animal Control will not respond, and give the name of the persons you talked to. |

Oh my gosh this makes my blood boil. If I were in your shoes and had witnessed all of this transpire I would be beating down the door of the highest ranking official at my police department and would have the issue reported to the media. I'm attaching a link to a database from the ASPCA that can tell you just who has authority for animal cruelty issues in your town.
