She didnt bite you so dont make a fuss. But she bit your pupies so take action. Go to the owners house with an adult or have the police escort you to tell the owner to keep that do on a leash or lockrd up. |

If you have laws in your town saying that a dog must be on leash, tied up away so it cant chase after people you can call the police and file a report ... the owner will have to either leash the dog, end up paying fines or if it gets to far end up in court |

Unless you would rather shoot the useless mutt ! Start carrying pepper spray if you can legally, or big stick, pipe or whatever. Time to change that mutt's mind that chasing / biting you is a fun game. Once it gets whacked nicely a couple times or sprayed, it will probably still bark, but would keep it's distance. |

Many communities have a leash law, stating that animals must be on a leash, or in a fenced yard.
Animals that run free, are subject to be caught, and the owners jailed or fined or both. It is one thing to allow your dog to protect your property, within the property limits. It is another thing for the animal to attack beyond that boundary.(fear of imminent harm/ some have shot and killed a dog for attacking them and have been justified in doing so.
I have friends who carry cattle prods with them, when they go out walking, to ward off dogs who like to go beyond their limited property of protection boundaries, thus becoming an intimidation. |

Have an adult go talk to the owner. Someone with some moxy has to draw a hard line on this one. |

If there is an animal control in your area and a leash law yes. Otherwise you need to prove the dog is dangerous. Take a spray bottle with ammonia and water with you and when the dog comes at you spray it, that will send it off flying fast. Don't put to much ammonia, about half and half. |

Yes, you can call animal control about stray dogs, especially aggressive ones. |

Call animal control. |

Ask me a? Will tell ya no lies

You can definitely call animal control. There should be a leash law in your city, and because this mongrel isn't leashed or in its yard, the owners are liable for any medical bills, if this dog does bite you. The owner can also be held responsible if you incur any vet bills regarding your pet as well. Also, the dog may be taken away from the owner, and the owner cited to pay a fine, or go to court. I don't think you have to go to court unless the animal causes any harm to you or a pet, and you are a witness. There are so many stray dogs in this country. If this dog is aggressive it may be put down if not it can be adopted by a loving family who can take care of it properly. Please I urge you to call animal control before this dog hurts someone, you, a small child, or another animal. Also before this dog gets run over by a vehicle. ( I know because this dog chases you that is probably what you wish for when you are running in the other direction! haha! I would!)
But in all seriousness definitely call animal control. Put their number in
your cellphone so you can call while you are walking your dog, and you can let them know exactly where this dog/animal is located. By doing this you can save someone from getting mauled or bit. Good luck now go call your local animal control!!! :) P.s don't confront the neighbors! That is opening up an ugly can of worms. |

Yes. No you won't have to go to court. Most states/counties have a leash law. The doge should be restrained. Most likely they won't take the dog but will fine the owner and make him/her lock up the dog, chain it, whatever. If they don't comply then they will take the dog. |

i'd call animal control or the police. that dog should be put down. i doubt you will have to go to court. i think you could just decide to press charges or make them put it down. their choice. but that's if/when it bites you. |

Yes, it's a shame the dog doesn't have a responsible owner, but you could possibly change that for the better if you call animal control. |

Absolutely, if fact a dog chased our mail man so he curtailed all mail on the street until the man built a fence to contain the dog.
He also turned him in to animal control and received over $200. in fines.
A pet must be under control at all times.
Every one on my block had to pick there mail up at the P.O. until dog was fenced in |

Yes, I would call them for sure. And no, you won't have to go to court. When you have a dog it's against the law to allow them to run around in the street period. Call animal control and they'll handle it. |

yes you can and should, the dog owner has a responsibility to keep control over their animal. and as a dog owner, i am very angry that some people are not held responsible for the damage their animal has done. don't listen to anyone who says different. call the animal control people.what if the dog attacks you or a child? |

no you won't have to go to court, yes call! |

You can call animal control and they will come access the situation and let you know what to do. They will take the dog if it is a danger and then the owner will go to court. Most places have leash laws and you can bring civil suit against the owners if this dog harms you.
You should call right away the next time you see him out without a leash. |

Usually, there is a leash law to prevent these sort of actions. Are they strays? If so, then definitely. If they're not strays, the owner can be sued if their dog bit you like that, but that would most likely be up to you. Either way, you can call animal control and let them deal with it. |
