Abortion, do you think it's ok?

I don't think it is ok, but who am I to tell someone else what to do with their life, body, and baby?

In a perfect world an abortion would never be necessary but in the real world there are situations where a woman or girl has few other choices. Rape, incest, extreme deformities of the fetus, etc. It's a difficult decision for any woman to make but sometimes it's for the best.

this is not a black-or-white topic. I don't think abortion should be used as a method of birth control. there are plenty of better ways to prevent pregnancy. if a woman is raped or in cases of incest or if the mother's life is threatened or sometimes the baby's life, then it should be considered. it should never be taken lightly, but considered with all the options, such as keeping the baby or adoption.

This isn't a simple question.

When is a fetus alive? Not at conception (its just a mass of cells) first trimester? Maybe.

It all depends on when/how you define the fetus as being alive as well as what factors are involved in the abortion (High risk pregnancy for example.) But I never think its something to be done without some kind of counseling (preferably the non-religious kind) before and after.

i think it reallly depends on the situation.

EG. the unborn will have servere learning difficulties and need care all its life. i think it would be okay to have an abortion becuase it would be an unfair life for the child and unfair for the parents to raise it.

but i do think its wrong just to abort a child becuase they didn't plan for it.

Heck no. Once that egg is fertilized you have a living being. Granted it takes a while for it to grow but it is a living being. Anyone who kills thier own child should be put in jail. It is murder.
If you are raped then this alternative probubly would cross your mind but think about it, that child is still half yours. If you cannot bear to raise it, then place the child for adoption at least. I say give him/her a chance

If the mother's life is in danger, or its rape or incest...im sorry, I think abortion is okay. It is the mother who has to live with the consequences. ITS NO ONE ELSE'S BUSINESS.

I do not think abortion is ok. I think it is murder. It's funny how it is not considered murder to abort a baby, but if a mother is killed and she is pregnant, the killer is charged with 2 counts of murder. That seems a little funny to me.

no. even criminals like murders and rapist have their chance to defend themselves in court to try and save their lives, but innocent babies dont get that chance. I think there is something wrong with that.

No of course it is not "OK" as you put it. Killing is never OK. Sometimes unfortunately it may be the lesser of two evils as in the case of a rape pregnancy or in the case where a Mother's life is endangered. Please don't ever think it's OK. This is not throwing away an extra drink. This is a real life. Would it have been OK for our mothers to have done it to us?

A year and a half ago, I went to my normal doctor for a visit. I had a pregnancy test to check, I thought I might had been pregnant. Came back Positive. My very first visit to an OBGYN, I had 14 days to decide weter to keep the unborn child, or not. I was brought up around a Christian family, and even THEY told me to get an abortion. I went to stay at an Uncles house, to make my decision. I made phone calls, talked to God,and never asked the boyfriend I had. It was my decision. I walked into my bedroom on the eighth day I had to make up my mind. I put on a cross necklace, and a warm 'good' feeling swept over my senses. "I knew what I had to do." Needless to say, everything went perfect with my pregnancy but the relationship with the father of the child ended quickly. I now have a beautiful blond headed blue eyed little girl. "I never thought I would make it, but the Lord gave me everything I asked Him for at my times of need."

I can't answer from a pregnant womans point of view.
But, from my viewpoint, with so many people wanting a child,
that can't have one. I would think, it would be better to adopt a
child out, to a happy family, than to be aborted.
I grew up an orphan, and am still glad today, that I was not
"aborted."
I have a wife of 38 years, two grown children, and one Grandson to "prove" it. <}:-})
